Crash - on Launch
Hello since the update i can’t play, pressing on launcher everything alright , but then directly crash
Hi Madon, it’s my understanding this crash occurs with mods enabled. I’m not yet sure which one is the problem, unfortunately.
How do i remove all the mods from my game folder ? do i have to reinstall?
you can toggle the mod patch and remove said patch to disable all mods. If you want them re-enabled you gotta use the patch to repatch it.
Yeah I got the same, it would be cool to know what is the exact mod causing this.
I disabled all mods but apparently the issue is Darktide being patched for mods, even with no mods enabled it crashes. Removing the mod patch makes the game run.
you made sure you got the updated version of the mod loader?
quite a slim loadorder i use myself, but no issues here, fingers crossed.
Yeah I use the vortex one which handles the order, I think I had some old mods in the folder from long ago that were unmanaged by vortex, cleaning and deploying the mods again seems to have worked, that is, with many disabled ones (about 50%) that I don´t feel like I will miss much to reduce the chances.
Currently doesn´t crash with these enabled:
NumericUI
hub hotkeys
Scoreboard
ForTheEmperor
Debuff Indicator
True Level
Recolor Boss Health Bars
Markers Improved AIO
Does Nexus Mod Manager/ Vortex actually update the Mod Loader though (I can’t recall)? (note: not order, LOADER).
Make sure the LOADER is updated, manually if needed then proceed.
Outdated mods don’t do anything if they aren’t in the order file or disabled by the mod loader in-game.
Note that “Markers Improved AIO” was referenced as buggy this morning the post I linked.
This ^
I have both removed all mod related folders in mine, and still got this exact same error each time.
This is ridiculous that Fatshark cannot make a game where they fail to make quickswapping a thing (and make the community make a mod for it) and a Claim All Pennances mod (because I want to click more in a game that makes the meta all clicker playstyles). This is absurd, and the developer team need to be forced back into CSC 101 and sit with freshman programmers for an awful job of programming
TLDR anecdote - the crash isn’t due to any specific mod but simply having mods enabled. More below.
Long-time player here. Dozens of mods with the Experimental Build on Steam.
The only thing that allows me to play is to unpatch the game for mods. Here’s my crashify report **with all mods disabled/none loading in the load_order.txt, and not on the Experimental branch.

Every big update also needs updates of the mod framework and some of the mods themselves. Did you do that? (edit: Sorry,
Most of my ~80 mods do still work after I updated the mod framework, and updates for the broken ones keep coming in daily. edit: I just checked, only three of them are still missing a fix.
If you don’t use the aforementioned mod manager, you can disable mods easily by adding two minus signs and one space before their name in the mod_load_order.txt, so e.g. ”ChatBlock” becomes “– Chatblock”. I’d suggest that you update the mod framework and all mods, then disable all of them and then slowly add one at a time to see which ones may be broken.
Can you just fix your game? Like how hard is it? If your game didn’t perform so badly that a community has to make a mod for quickswapping… these forums wouldn’t exist…. Have you ever thought about that?
Hey Duncan, I can’t fix Darktide personally, but it sounds like there’s some mod functionalities you’d like to see added - be sure to share over at Gameplay Feedback so it’s visible to the wider team and decision-makers. ![]()
No.. you fix the game.. you have Fatshark in your name.. therefore you have 5+ years of experience writing lines of code in C#, C++, C, and other game programming languages.. fix your game now. Do your job. You get paid by Tencent, which is CCP money. Get to work
Julia taking it like a champ and responding with a hilarious meme ![]()
Most of us know mod functionality isn’t your problem and we appreciate you guys at least being aware of it and hopefully investigating.
Can you at least get the art people to work on the net code? It won’t work any better but it sure will be pretty.
