Why, expected anything substantial to happen? Buddy it’s time to cope with the fact that we aren’t seeing any sort of actual content (new enemies, :new: weapons, new subclasses, etc) at least after 2-3 months AFTER the Xbox release.

Q3 At the earliest for sure.

The game will remain in this state until Feb-March 2024. I’ve come to live with this.
We’ll maybe get some patches here and there to ā€œbalanceā€ something unnecessary…

I don’t know how the XBox release will pan in this timeline, but afaik there’s no release date for DT on XBox, so there’s that too.

I’ve heard the term ā€œearly adopterā€ get thrown around when referring to those that bought a Live Service game on launch. Early Adopters is right, I feel.

tbh, who cares?

let them try to flog it to the drooling xbox masses, i predict free on whatever their bulls**t subscription model is within a month of launch on xbox

Hoping for some sort of patch before the break yes. Probably naive of me but my mindset is that if we get nothing before their break I’m just done completely with Darktide, including the forums.

Also I thought it would be funny when there’s 3 days left to use the Majora’s Mask time screens.

I mean, I care. I feel this could be (or could’ve been, depending on how pessimistic you are) one of my favorite games ever. And if there was some sort of patch before Summer I would have a lot more hope.

As for Xbox, isn’t it already free on Gamepass? And Gamepass is the same thing on Xbox, right?

I usually try not to be an early adopter for anything. I won’t be purchasing any further games until after about 1-2 months after launch for the remainder of my days. This was the last one I was willing to take the risk on and I was satisfied with my game time despite all the issues.

With a summer of great-looking games ahead of us… Let’s pray that the game doesn’t die in the meantime

CatFish already said the next Comm is June 15th. Here is a preview of the content of the email:

  • We’re having internal discussion about things
  • Can’t talk about anything, since we’re discussing it internally
  • We wish we could be more transparent but we already have your money and ā€œinternal discussionsā€ is just code for pizza parties in the office

Btw, the Xbox launch will have the version of Darktide that launched on PC, NOT the version that it is today.

Wait… I thought they had started those ā€˜serious internal discussions’ about the direction of the game soon after release… so like 6 months? That’s gotta be the longest internal meeting ever.

They make sure to have very lengthy internal discussions to ensure all updates are released on time and bug-free
