I’m sure it is something that has been considered and discussed a while ago and probably seemed like a good idea, but I am one of those who find it irritating. I hope you will reconsider it.
As for us, perhaps a suggestion on how we can open this minor, but irritating issue with your manager?
Reasonable arguments? (There are many players of this game of ours that don’t like how we address them…
Player poll? (How about making another poll and asking…)
Bribery? (If you do this for us, we will slip you…)
Blackmail? (You know, I know what you did last summer and you know and we both know you don’t want…)

Going to second this. All my characters are level 30 and have been for a while. It was fine when it was new game marketing but its not a new game.

Varlets is fine but i’d prefer Acolytes. Either way isnt a big deal but rejects grinds my gears a bit. It feels like someone else is being spoken to because i’m certainly not a reject.
Nah, we still are Rejects, even after joining the Warbands
But Varlet is nicer (tough some people will simp for Hadron even more)

Getting worked up over the Rejects thing is really just projecting other worked up anger via a more socially acceptable outlet.
It’s very clear what the Rejects in the announcements means. I don’t see the issue.

Personally I don’t care. I just see it as how community managers speak to their audience. Instead of Hello “everybody, gamers, etc.” it’s “title of characters in game”. Whatever it is is mostly irrelevant to me.

Whether it’s divers, survivors, varlets, acolytes, rejects, pioneers, pilots, commanders, engineers, mercs, etc. doesn’t really matter to me. Just comes across as a cheeky/funny immersive title.
I am sure with all the “rejects will rise” and reject branding/marketing it’s not a non-trivial task to rebrand (although changing just the title in patch notes can be done without affecting the rest if a bit inconsistent).
That said, to play devils advocate a bit, I am sure there are titles most would find socially unacceptable. I could give examples but the profanity filter would probably prevent me. Rejects I never thought would be specifically triggering for people, but if by popular demand/vote a decent chunk find it unpleasant may as well apply the Utilitarian Calculus. If people dislike it or indifferent. Not sure if there’s a sizable group that ENJOY rejects as a handle.
Perhaps it’s a bit of a tension between players wanting a power fantasy and the game wanting to remind us we’re common trash and bullet fodder that on a battle field, space marines would shoot through us without a second thought if it was worthwhile… although what we’re capable of would suggest we aren’t just common imperial foot soldiers. I digress.
