I discussed this with the development team and we have two theories
Theory 1, it looks like a possible corrupt texture.
Please try verifying integrity of game files first:
- Right-click Darktide in your Steam library sidebar
- Select ‘Properties’
- Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
- Select the ‘Verify the Integrity of Game Files’ button
- When complete, close and reopen Steam
Failing this, then try a clean reinstallation of Darktide (please note any custom settings e.g. keybindings will be lost):
Theory 2, possible GPU issue/failing GPU. I’d recommed to try reinstalling your GPU drivers. If the issue persists, or you notice similar issues in other games/media then you’ll need to consult a hardware specialist.

Thanks for the response, I’m playing on Xbox series x though. I will try reinstalling the game though just to see if that stops it.
I know right? Kind of wish there was some cool lighting in areas like this

Ah apologies I entirely missed that! Sounds good, hopefully reinstalling will help. I’ve also mentioned this to our console developers as something to keep an eye out for too.
