Choose not to increase certain stats when empowering (warp resistance)

Let us choose not to empower certain stats when empowering a weapon!

As many players know, especially those with a lot of time on Psyker, certain stats are not just dump stats, but in fact better at lower percent values. This is super prevalent for the “Warp Resistance” stat on many psyker weapons when running venting shriek builds, where you ideally want much lower warp resistance to reach your venting shriek threshold. This is probably most noticeable in non-staff venting shriek builds that use something like a deimos or ilsi charging their special attack to rapidly generate peril.

The difference between a 0% warp resistance and 80% warp resistance deimos sword is having to tap the sword 2 times vs up to 8 to reach 85% peril. That is a drastic difference in time needed to generate peril, and corresponds to way way better performance over the course of the match with a minimum warp resist sword as you have less downtime on shrieks and less time spent at low peril for warp rider damage.

Prior to this patch I had spent close to 3 full docket caps (>75 million dockets) buying deimos swords from Brunt trying to get a 2-tap deimos with good base stats, I got close (14%) but it was still just barely too high. The problem arises that in the new system, with Brunts armory now being capped at 280 base rating, it is actually straight up impossible to get a low roll warp resist with capped stats in the other 4 stats. Even in statistical god roll odds you can get a 0% warp resist and four 70%s in the other slots, which in and of itself is worse than the odds of getting a perfect roll before in the old system. The worst part is, even if you find a 0% god roll and want to empower the other 4 stats to 80, every time you empower the weapon it randomly upgrades ALL the stats, meaning your high value low roll is eroded after every empower. This can easily be solved by just letting us toggle off certain stats from being increased through empowerment. In a more perfect world we could even lower base stats through empowerment by choice.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk and I hope this feature is added.

Or lets say for “melee” psyker builds with force swords. As Deimos and Obscurus special attacks remain hot garbage, less times I have to queue up that action better. All my best Deimos and Obscurus swords have low warp resistance.

I suspect is that Fatshark game designers don’t really play or consider a lot of obscure builds, so they have no idea what makes / should make those tick.
