oh, free advertisement from a new fan
care to share some of your gameplay then to show how its done ?
btw
please do a proper check then, i usually ONLY play ogryn since beta, so long before the oggy revamp
arbites sure for novelties sake
Lion’s share of the blame has to go on Fat shark here, they have set it up like a single player game where you progress through the levels , i bet it got worse when they put in Arbites and changed the leveling system.
the game actually tells people they should move up a difficulty now , the xp the rewards it all scales it all pushes the buttons all teh single player games have ingrained into behaviour.
If FS were to make all rewards and progression agnostic of difficulty dont even have an increasing number of skulls denote difficulty just simple equally weighted words make it clear difficulty is how you set the challenge you want only. i would expect it will get a lot better, of course there always will be people that leap in
It’s typical for these forums.
They think 99% of quickplay people are horrible (except for them and their few friends of course). Which is weird, because everyone wants the game to be harder on these forums, but apparently carrying randoms is not an answer to that.
I mean, he’s not wrong. It’s kinda weird seeing you push for balance and player segregation in the game, yet you play Ogryn-- and Arbites with the most broken melee weapon, the maul, which you admitted yourself in some other thread is overtuned.
I still remember when I pm’ed you to help you climb to Havoc 40, back when you weren’t playing Havoc, and I don’t remember you acting the way you do now on forums.
No he said Brew-ha-ha, that’s a coffee chain.
and i politely replied i wanted to do it on my terms, no comms, randoms, full health non meta build.
dont use bully club either so?
so far i did havoc 40 with randoms every “season”
for every arbites video i upload an ogryn one as well, he’s staying my main and only character.
as for the builds, if i found something to suit my playstyle i dont change, why should i?
(arbites is for and giggles anyways.
he’s completely op despite some left tree talents not working. i hope they turn him into a “respectable class”)
i play the game like quake not an rpg.
besides it aint my fault my most beloved class that i play from the beginning got buffed, if i had a say in it it would be much more toned down.
played my ogryn when everyone said he sucked and no one gave a , now suddenly he’s the crutch.
only that i dont care once i picked a character that suits me.
usually i’m more relaxed, but recent matches had me quite… agitated to say the least

Your strawman falls flat, replace “2k” with “2 dozen” or “2 hundred”, and the situation would remain the same.
There are people who simply feel entitled to play at the hardest diffs, woefully unprepared and unable to contribute simply because they can and want to for ego’s sake. Ye old malice → damn auric maelstrom "natural DT progression".
E.g. camping elevator door on Vigil Station after scans, moving off to the side is so elementary and such a no-brainer basic move, that it’s practically an IQ test. Now extrapolate and imagine one or more teammates doing crap like that constantly and you get the idea, that’s crappy gameplay by anybody’s metric and by any game’s standards.
This is not new or DT exclusive and the ones who suffer the most are not the “l337z00r”, it’s the decent players who actually put in the time and made an effort to learn and contribute, typically with far less free time for gaming. Put 3 of those decent players and 1 dead-weight and things go south very quickly. The leetzors just voice their frustration more despite being able to carry, the decent team will likely fail due to 1 selfish karker.
Contrary to what the self-pat ego “they’re a diff modifier!111”, hard carrying gets old fast and becomes a frustrating chore. Carrying people who make the most basic stupid anti-team mistakes in any game is the opposite of fun, it may be fun at first but gets old real fast.
TLDR your strawman failed.
There might be entitled people, or people who refuse to cooperate yes, but at the end of they day that’s what you are signing up for unless you pre-select your team. That’s simply the nature of how randomness works here. You have the solution.
If going into a pre-made team trivializes the game, then you can opt to use different builds/classes/strategies to add a new flavour to the game. Or you can find more like-minded people, even if less experienced, to help them out and teach them in a pre-made group. It would still keep an element of difficulty if Havoc 40 with all great players is too easy.
Also like I said in another discussion., people can claim they offer advice or suggestion in a nice way all the want, but the way people talk on this forums makes me think that’s not really true and they’re often demanding or nagging instead. You will find people receptive to advice far more often if done right.
Yup I messed up. English isn’t my first language, so off to the coffee chain we go!
Good lord gracious. You are making so many assumptions here it’s honestly flabbergasting.
No one is going to take you seriously the way you are assuming and expecting left and right.
I have nothing more to add to this discussion because you have clearly made up your own mind about how things should or should not be, even going for personal attacks. Assuming someone has no friends because of lacking social skills (what haha?!) is simply inappropriate.
Enjoy building strawmen in the thread, greetings from someone who apparently has no friends in life because of abominable social skills and should play low difficulty levels since my skill level in this game after nearly 2000 hours is equally abominable, based on zero evidence.
Good job, you truly cracked the case Mr. Bob!
What’s stopping you from playing in a pre-made squad?
Everyone does this, we all just choose whatever different weapons and goofy builds when playing with pre-made buddies. In a rando pug there’s a ~1/5 chance (more like 1/4) that you’ll get a struggles-at-malice player in Aurics+, so your goofing around loadout will often fall flat, regular players are likely going to wipe because 1 player is actively working against them. Get 2 of those malice players and well…yeah. 3 and it becomes a science experiment.
Just going to address this bit real fast, your logic is flawed from the get-go: people venting here does not reflect how they would interact in a match, it makes no sense to assume this, just as people behave differently IRL vs in-game.
^ I honestly can’t tell he’s doing it out of ignorance or bad-faith, so I’m going to ignore him as it’s really bad for my already spiking blood pressure, thanks for addressing him.
So is the bragging and skillmongering, somehow that doesn’t bother you.
No I believe that assumption is very much correct. I’ve seen this in many cases, real life, other games and this game. People who will belittle or have a very low opinion of others and express it like this won’t be all that different in a match.
Also yes people behave differently in life compared to ingame, but in the context of just ingame you can definitely get a pattern of how someone behaves, forum or match.
You can see this in balance threads, where casual players are often enough blamed, as it is here. I am going to use a hyperbole, but some act like players worse than them are all that’s wrong with this game, from balance to how the matches go and everything else.
Also you do seem to be able to get a pre-made squad, so what’s keeping you from playing more with them? Or reaching out to other people too if they’re unavailable? It would solve your problems if the random player’s capabilities are not enough for you.
I mean, the worst, most out of turn thing I’ve said to you on this forum is your repeated non-point about power creep was just that, a non-point. And not worth continuing to repeat or read.
That “toxicity” has set you on to some sort of personal crusade and like you’re an evaluator of moral character. So your objectivity is a bit hard to take objectively at this point.
ok one last time i got to chime in cause this is simply untrue.
at every start of a match everyone is a blank slate with equal “value”.
i make sure everyone has ammo/health, greenstim them when necessary, take off dogs nets etc.
everyone fks up sometimes, no biggie.
BUT (and recently in a very increased amount) i had people that were actively sabotaging by backtracking, flinging themselves into hordes that needed to spawn first due to them hanging back and waiting, to the point of being a risk for the match.
refusing to enter the airlock despite having a cleared path as well, so what should one do? kickvote?
so repeated foul-ups to the brink of throwing a match? why would anyone support that?
at such point they are written off and i don´t care what they do or dont, i do my thing till there´s a victory screen.
all this and i NEVER had my mic on nor did i go out of my way texting other than a quick “get IN” cause that takes from getting the match won.
don´t even text at the end screen despite seeing HUGE gaps in the scoreboard that would be proof of someone doing absolutely nothing all day.
i banned a few special cases, but ingame the match ends i´m focused on the next one.
my stuff is out there, go ahead, pick one video where i grief someone or let someone unrezzed multiple times on purpose.
i let them die when the situations fubar and the hero to the rescue would die as well and the next rezz spot´s around the corner, sure.
but thats called calculated play.
I do not mean what you told me (you didn’t even understand what I said back then I see) I mean the general way many others talk on this forum. You should relax about that, you’re not that important, I do not care that much. I just dislike what direction this forum is taking.
You can find more extreme examples around here, like calling team-mates the “scum of the earth” from one user. “Dead dumb weight”, “special kids” and anyway I bet there’s plenty more. It’s not about me taking personal offence, but it says a lot about one to say things like that.
