When using the force swords and blazing spirit, a crit is likely to kill enemies.
This should apply soulblaze stacks, AND the kill should propogate those stacks if you have the Wildfire talent.
Currently the kill speed from crits actually reduces how often Blazing Spirit actually applies making it basically useless.
One of the bigger flaws also making sure that build diversity suffers.
There is no reason to have a low-dmg Blazing Spirit weapon.
It would be great if Blazing Spirit was triggered on hit instead. Or if a critical hit kill would still apply it to nearby enemies.
It could also just apply on weakspot hit.
It would make it more reliable (unless you rely on guaranteed crit blessing), introduce a skill component, and make it more useful against elites.
I had a buddy who used Bloodthirsty and Blazing Spirit on an Illisi build. According to him it was okay along with the talents you take for a purge staff build but the problem is both purge staff and Illisi are great horde clearers but crap against armor so you’re better off with a Deimos or DS mk4 to help with elites.
I suppose if you have some other build and can spare a few talents to let the fire spread, it’ll work alright but otherwise, even on the Illisi, it tends to kill most things before the soulflame actually contributes anything meaningful.
A slight tangent, but awkwardly the soulblaze talents don’t actually synergize very well with a soulblaze builds in general. Perilous combustion won’t proc if soulblaze is the killing blow, making it fairly unlikely to proc with a Purgatus Staff or any other source that lets you apply high stacks. Wildfire won’t go above a cap of 4, so if you’re already applying a lot of soulblaze it won’t actually add many stacks. They’re still both better than other options, and it is possible it would get unbalanced if there was better synergy, but it still doesn’t feel great.
