I cannot perform “behind enemy lines” despite the fact that I ACCURATELY kill SHOOTERS in the back without having allies nearby. There may be an incorrect translation (in the screenshot provided, the Russian translation reads "kill ranged enemies in the back while you do not have the effect of cohesion).

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

Play as zealot
Try go forward and kill shooters in the back
see no progression

Same thing seems to be the case with the spanish translation.

This is a screenshot that someone provided, when complaining about the same issue that OP mentions, but with the spanish language.

I do not speak spanish, but the guy who complained, said that there is no mention of the loner aura being required.
