Beast of Nurgle need tweaking. "Go ahead and cancel me idc"

I survived 3 at once last alive but ok

I’m very excited to see this

The right claw overhead on the triple combo should be the same damage as a Crusher overhead at least, instant knockdown that must be dodged.

There is literally no problem fighting it melee is harder.

Why do you even expect fighting every enemy with the same strategy, and expect it to work? Childish

Beast of Nurgle is a very random boss, depending on the team composition and location. It can be easy to kite and destroy or absolutely annoying to deal with.

The biggest thing i hate about BoN that fire can damage you while being eaten.

They’re annoying when they attack you in corridors, but I cannot remember the last time any team mate died to a BoN ? Maybe additional enemies while engaging one, but not to the slug itself.

Speaking of monster buffs. I seem to remember the original release Chaos Spawn being a real pain in the proverbial. Randomly doing huge leaps and grabs, and refilling its health bar from each chomp. They were a war of attrition. I think they’re a bit too easy now.

I like slugs personally, they’re a very unique enemy. Only annoyances for me is the fact that their arms while “walking” deal hitstun to players and the body slam that’s difficult to react to and destroys toughness.

hey, at least give me a copyright  felt like an archeologist last time i thought of the image and took it for reference.

me smart ogryn sah.

as for the beast itself,

yeah its tedious, almost lost at the end of a match last day cause no one else wanted to commit to it amidst a never ending onslaught or minor enemies.

they rather pulled batteries from the train and wondered why they didnt get very far with them :man_shrugging:

a plague ogryn or chaos spawn could be an “ignorable” part in a horde for it moves “organic” and is fightable even with crap on your tail (see consignment yard finale)
nurgle snail however is a roadblock for blocking sake.

that might be the idea behind the boss, so hey it works as intended, but from all bosses its the most tedious to fight in my book.

and fight it i had to plenty going through the monster event yesterday in one swoop.

sure ogryn with branx gets it down, if i’m at freedom of manovering.
or theres a box or pillar in between.

neat thing i found out this way is, since i usually only partake in slaying but not solo it regularly, if you face its tail at a less than 45° angle, your far away enough from the tail swipe but not close to its maw either for it to go after you immediately.

could whack away with it wiggling its tail for quite some time until it got fed up and faced me directly.

might have been a “situational” thing but it worked for me

fire, gunners sometimes and bosses can generally damage you while grabbed, great that it’s still not fixed 2 years in

Dont really mind the beast too much, but its a bit boring compared to the other three bosses.

Its just a big roadblock you gotta bang your head against until it dies, its especially tedious if it spawns in a tight corridor or in an area with narrow walkways.

To me personally its the most annoying boss to fight besides the DH with its constant 360 knockback.

the worst part imo is how theyre run away after eating a teammate. ignoring environmental damage during that and ignoring the purple damage being too quick and ignoring how its one of the worst and hardest to deal with disable in the game.
i really really hate that behavior how they get the hell away from everyone when they eat you.

its so disheartening seeing a flamer come up while you’re picked up by a chaos spawn and woops there goes my clutch and theres nothing i can do about it.

Indeed, had a BoN block off the entire walkway just after the second to last medicaid station on Archivum Sycorax, it effectively cut the team in half during a Crusher/Mauler ambush. The team wiped shortly afterward.

Would love to see:

  • No environmental damage in the belly of the beast
  • Tweak run away mechanic, at least slow down with a full belly – I think it would be way cooler if it sat there and defended its prize though, maybe just sit still and go ham
  • If you are the last one alive please just regurgitate quickly
  • Communicate to players that being covered in goop is a prerequisite to being grabbed

Overall I appreciate that it’s quite different from Spawn/Ogryn, but it can be somewhat frustrating to fight especially as a solo. Makes me really appreciate a good Bolter player though

they do book it pretty quick when they gobble someone…

Triggering specials, static mobs and other Monstrosities or DHs as well as all the environmental effects as they drag you along really is the worst part about the Beast.

i once got eaten then dragged up a drop into an area my team couldnt get to, fun times

Might as well say “poxburster explosions can not be countered”.
You would be just as wrong.

You can kill the burster before he gets in range.
You can also push the burster away, when he jumps at you.
If you are in range, when the explosion goes off, there is nothing you can do anymore, but when it comes to that, this does not mean that the explosion can not be countered. It means that you messed up before.

Regarding the BoN grab…
If you are in grab range, when you can be grabbed, you messed up.

Before you can get grabbed:

  1. You need to get spit on
  2. You need to be in melee range, while spit debuff is on you

How to counter the grab:

  1. Do not get spit on
  2. If you get spit on, stay out of melee range until the debuff wears off
  3. If you have the debuff on you and you are in grab range (or about to be in grab range) you can still drop a grenade at your feet. The explosion will stagger the BoN and allow you to get out of range. Or maybe the BoN grabs you before the grenade goes off, in which case the grenade will free you immediately.

There is one problem with BoN though.
You can take damage from aoe attacks, while being munched.
That is stupid and should not be a thing.

Any stagger vomits up the victim too.
Ogryn charge, or explosive grenades for example.

I still don’t think they’re bad. And if they spawn at a bad time and you lose, I guess… good? It’s good to lose sometimes. Shoop happens.

also by simply shooting the back of BoN will make vomits up the players.
when someone gets grabbed, BoN will turn around back and escape, and that’s the right moment to shoot in the back to help the player.

Yes, it does… most of the time, but there are outlier cases where it just doesn’t feel like adhering to its own rules.

There are instances when stagger or damage to the weakpoint does not actually vomit a victim up. Chained staggers/WP hits just prior to the animation being completed (or something, I’m unsure) because there have been multiple instances where the BON just ignores what would normally cause them to spit out their prey.
