In some ways I do appreciate how 1-H axes are unique in that every hit in it’s light attack comboes deal decent armour piercing attacks at the expense of any cleave. Problem is every other weapon have more than enough capabilities to deal with h all armoured enemies while also being able to handle hordes on top.
My suggestion is to take Bardin’s Axe+shield Heavy2 (the horizontal axe swing) and apply it to all axe weapons. Maybe in the form of a heavy attack or push attack. It’s essentially Sienna’s crowbill heavy, but with cleave. Also give Sienna’s crowbill heavies cleave.
Oh, you’ve actually already done a few of my suggestions. rofl
Also a shame about Crowbill, that seemed like the most simple improvement for it.
I wonder if there would be a way for them to not allow Crits on that specific attack. Even if it is a nerf to the others, it would still be a worthwhile change.
It definitely would yeah, though I wonder if that’d make it too much like any other weapons.
Considering axes did have low horde clear potential as a defined weakness from as far back as V1, I figured making the cleave hit more difficult to access might still enforce that identity. Similar to how the only to do any decent single target damage with great swords is through a slow push attack.
Neither, both would be bad and would have warranted a feedback thread.
Those two are not mutually exclusive. That’s why I suggested a cleave attack that’s harder to access than for most other weapons while still retaining its current stagger and armour piercing against elites.
