Awesome new Nurgle enemies idea

Hi ! Darktide gameplay is awesome but very repetitive… A large variation of enemies is essential ! I think some new enemies could be nice and would give us a breath of fresh air !
Here some awesome idea FS should look at :

U hear a sadistic laugh in the middle of the fight and sudenly, a tiny creature arise out of the horde and jump at your head !
The nurgling could grab the player face, shaking your vision and obstruc your vision with his hands on the screen ! Something like that :

Player could continue to shot on enemies during nurgling grab… Nurgling could deal a really small amout of damage in addition to block player view !
The other players should have to kill the little creature stuck on the head of his victim or nurgling should release his victim after 10 seconds and run to another one…

A bell resonate in the horde of poxwalkers… Something disgusting advance towards you ! A plague bearer walk slowly among the enemies !
Plague bearer could be slow and tanky, surrounded by a stinky smoke u must not inhale ! If you approch the plague bearer, the smoke arround him would deal high corruption damage ! And the plague bearer should hit you hard !

Better kill Plague bearer from far away ! His smoke could eventualy buff enemies who walk inside…

And the last one :

A monstuous burp resound sudenly ! Without seeing it happen, a sticky tongue catch you and pull you away from your team !
The plague toad could catch player and pull dem toward him, in order to isolate a player from his team ! His special attack dont disable player, but the plague toad could bite after having pull a player to him !
Then, when you kill the plague toad, he could spread a purulant puddle that could deal corruption damage !

Tell me what do you think of that ! I hope Fatshark will add some news enemies to slay !!!

Ngl, I really dig the nurgling idea, it might actually remind people that there’s three others in a run, and it’d be yet another delightful way to watch crackheads die 20m+ out of coherency.

Something I’d really like to see in the future in terms of new enemies too is biome specific enemies or sub-factions. Maybe even wildlife if we get maps off the hive city. It’d be pretty cool to see monstrous death world invasive fauna rip scabs apart during a firefight.

Nurglings even were in V2 for events.

All good ideas. But i also want to fight nurgling hordes like this:

L4D2 Jockey nurgling could be fun. But specialists aren’t as exciting to me as a new, small, horde enemy.

I havent play VT2, what was the nurglings mechanic ?

I’m really hoping daemons are coming.

Yes all of the above, I like the idea of a plague toad working like a smoker from L4D and I love the idea of Nurglings acting as Jockeys from L4d2.

I would also like to add Rot Flies, to change sight lines and use more of the map.

Nurglings from V2 were more-or-less pointless and just a cosmetic nod to the Nurgle faction. They just sat around sections of a map to show there is a portal on the ground for the event. They didn’t attack or aggro players or swarm during a horde spawn. They just sat and bounced around when you attacked them.

nurgling balls carrying sacks of plasteel that you need to chase down and fight like the sack rat in VT2

That would be hilarious, fitting and fun if they trolled items, especially ammo when people were low or empty just to spite the forums.

Yeap, but considering it’s the same devs and the same engine, shouldn’t be a problem to develop this idea further.

Nurgle rot flies could be nice too ! They could spit disgusting sticky ball on players ! Being hit by that could slow down player drasticly ! Not even moving, but melee attack speed too !

I’ve seen rumors about tyranids… It could be really cool to fight a new faction but i would prefer more elite/special variety, new condirion and new modes before…

Personally I would love more Demonic Nurgle enemies (there could be a lore argument for the planet isn’t under Demonic Invasion yet but FS ruined that by making the Beast of Nurgle a mini boss enemy), not only for more variety but to also give infested damage type a reason to exist and take. I’m pretty sure the only reason to take infested on a weapon right now is the Agrip shotty so you can always 1 shot slug dogs, and maybe some horde clear weapons to kill pox walkers faster.

However I kind of disagree with how you implemented the Plaguebearer. I get in lore thats how it would work, being close to the Nurgle stuff would mess you up, but as far as Darktide is concerned we have mostly waved away the threat of being infected for gameplay reasons. I think they should just exist as another tanky strong melee elite, that is resistant to ranged damage as an infested enemy, and another way to deal corruption damage to the players. At max I think a slow corruption tick would be fine, but nothing too excessive.

Basically a way to make the Zealot’s corruption healing a bit more consistently useful but not something that needs to be an auto take.

Doesn’t even need to be outside of the Hive City. In Hives this big with already poorly managed undercities, the very botton of the Hive breeds a variety of hyper lethal and grotesque animals that can even give Space Marines a pause. Would love to see stuff like that implemented. Imagine a full Ambull boss that was incredibly strong but also fought all the Nurgle enemies.
