Audio bugging out?

Has anybody have issues with the audio since the major talent update?

Me and my friend both get a lot of audio issues that make the gameplay pretty awful.

  1. The specials/elites audio cues sometimes don’t play, so I can’t hear a mutant charging me from behind, or a pox hound jumping, trappers shooting etc.
  2. The directions are kinda messed up sometimes, it sounds like the specials/elites are coming from far away but they are already very close, or vice versa, or they sound coming from different direction.
  3. Audio stutters big time sometimes. It’s basically like it was played on a broken voice receiver, so it keeps cutting out during every single word several times. For example, when Hadron speaks “Yes, this would appear to be the place. Commence your scan” bugs out and plays stuttery like “Y-s, th-- wo–d a–ear -o b- the p–ce”

No change in our audio drivers or hardware. No other game has issues and it only started after the big update. I was sure I would find this in the bug report sub, but couldn’t find anything. So I am wondering if any of you also have these issues and it would warrant making a bug report, or if it’s somehow on our side (though as I said, no changes were made and it was working fine before the update).

No idea if it’s correlated to something, but mostly happens during high intensity action with lots of specials/elites for a brief time, maybe bugs out due to new audio files from certain abilities, maybe there is too much audio playing at once so it bugs out or something. Dunno.

It isn’t just you. Before the patch I’ve had the occasional silent special, but otherwise the audio has been pretty solid. Since the patch I’ve had…

Sound clips sped up and on repeat.
Sound cutting out entirely.
Stuttery sound clips.
Silent enemies.

And probably more that I’m forgetting now. I’m sure they know about it and will get it sorted.

+1, also been getting horrible stuttering at times in Maelstrom runs on top of the audio issues. To add insult to injury those runs have been the only ones I’ve had with good latency, lmao.

I haven’t been hearing the high peril warning sounds either

Well, seeing it’s not just us, Imma send this to the bug report part of the forum just to be sure the devs really do know about it.

Yes I had that, happened to me after a death. Mob ambience sound didn’t play, so I had a silent horde, but with some sounds still playing.

One such sound issue is when you die.
The first sound that is an ambient or background sound you hear when spawning back in again will loop on repeat.

As a Psyker, if this is the “high Peril whispering” ambience, you can turn it off by activating an ability or using your Blitz or charging your staff.
If this ambient sound is something else like the drawbridge in the Throneside level, you’re out of luck and only a restart fixes it or getting so far away from the original source that it can no longer trigger.

TL;DR: it’s not just you.

Also many of the new abilities don’t trigger sound and voicelines reliably, either.

I’m having the same probably listed at #2. It’ll happen randomly during a match where the directional audio becomes reversed or like my audio cues are coming from another players perspective and it’ll stay like that for the rest of the match. Extremely jarring to hear a hound scream like it’s about to pounce me yet it’s actually attempting to pounce the average knife zealot that’s 3000 meters in front of the team.

I have been getting audio issues, too. Voicelines sometimes start, there is a weird beep noise, and then the voiceline cuts out and doesn’t finish. Lots of silent enemies, I am getting hit in the back far more often simply because I can’t hear them.

The only one i’ve noticed in particular has been that Ragers will occasionally screech in a very high pitched voice which sounds extremely funny. Like they become a chipmunk for a millisecond.

Oh, I’ve also noticed horde noises persist into the mourningstar after some missions. I’ll see if I can figure out a pattern with that one…

Oh, so that wasn’t an ambience noise indicating stuff going down somewhere.

Okay, now I’m shocked.

Summary

I definitely had the Eviscerator special bug my game out earlier today. The only sound I could hear for the match was a single ping noise when I hit an enemy after revving once the bug occured

It could be? If so it feels very out of place (which is why I assumed it was an audio bug). Why would there be that kind of noise right outside the door we’ve just come from after a mission?
