Arbites' double ping + a seperate key for pounce

I’ll preface this by saying that I’m a big fan of pinging, since the VT2 days. It’s great for outlining elites/specials so that either I or someone else can kill it, and it’s also really helpful for just alerting teammates to threats, whether it’s a monstrosity that’s barreling towards us, or a stealthy crusher you spotted behind your team that’s about to end your psyker’s whole career.

So I don’t really want to turn pings off, the outline is super handy, and the sound alert is really helpful for communication. However, I’ve played a couple of games with Arbites players (and in the past, though very rarely, Veterans) that have been double/triple/quadruple and beyond ping spamming things.. constantly. It’s genuinely quite distracting, a bit overwhelming acoustically (and mentally), and to be blunt, really annoying. I politely informed one of them that it was a bit much, and they apologized, so there’s hope.

I’m not talking about here and there, I mean constantly, multiple times in every engagement throughout the entire mission.

I would love it if there was a separate key to pounce on things, personally on my arbitrator, simply because pinging and pouncing have different purposes, since the latter really guarantees it’ll be dealt with, and thus others don’t really need to be warned about it. Granted, there could be situations where you’d like to do both, but in my experience, that’s on the rarer side, and one could still easily do both with an optional separate key binding. Though, as I’m writing this, I’m realizing that if players don’t opt into the optional separate key binding, then it doesn’t solve my ping-spamming issue with them. Haha..

I suppose another solution would be to add a separate option to mute double pings in options Option > Input.

For me ideally, a second button would solve both issues. I’m not bothered by fairly frequent pinging, and if the dog pounces on something that’s pinged once, no biggie. Honestly, however you guys go ahead addressing it would probably be fine. From a mechanical perspective, the ping-spamming is more of an issue for me than the shared keybinding, though a separate keybinding personally would feel better.

Adding a new key, i think would be messy, for the player.

But I would like, and I am trying to find out how to improve it.

Because MANY times I try to tag an enemy for my dog, and I accidentally mark “enemy there” skull icon.

That is bad IMO.

It can be optional. Like dodge/jump which is initially on the same key.
