I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you today to appeal the ban that was imposed about a year and few months ago on my account iDrinkPlutonium in the official Darktide Discord server. I understand that moderation is crucial for maintaining a positive and inclusive community, and I sincerely apologize if my actions caused any disruption. It was simple banter on the topic of 500 year slavery that my country endured.
I would like to express my regret for any offense or inconvenience my patriotism may have caused. I realize the impact of my actions on the server environment and understand that maintaining a harmonious community is a shared responsibility. I am committed to adhering to the server rules moving forward.
In light of this, I would like to request a reconsideration of my ban. I am genuinely committed to being a positive and respectful member of the Darktide community as I have always been. I understand that rules are in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable space for all members and eagerly want to contribute positively to the community.
I understand that the moderation team is tasked with maintaining the integrity of the server and I try my best to respect the decisions made. However, I kindly request a second chance to prove that I can contribute positively to the community and adhere to the established guidelines.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my appeal. I genuinely appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to the possibility of rejoining the DT Discord.
I do have an interest in contributing positively to the community. Before I was banned I was one of those people and I even provided valuable feedback in the CBT.
I would like to add that I was banned unjustifiably for one single comment that was possibly too patriotic and misunderstood, tied to the 500 year slavery that my country had to endure, and thought it’s a temporary ban, and then pretty much forgot about the game for a while.
I tried rejoining recently and it was sadly not possible thus the appeal for the DT Discord Server Ban.
It’s the Ottoman occupation and enslavement of Bulgaria lasting from 1396 and ending in 1878.
The comment I made was about dropping the tsar bomba on Turkey as revenge. The thing is, it was only one comment obviously not meant to be taken seriously and I’ve never had any bad behavior in chat or in voice chat I am even in one of the gameplay videos of the voice actor of the Veteran.
What was the overall context of this? Did Turkey come up in conversation or was Turkey/Ottoman empire comparisons made to Atoma/Imperium? Or to Bulgaria and rejects/heretics? Just curious on the surrounding context.
I remember replying to a user who said something about the extremist ideology and I replied with this for the lols. No specific context, Turkey never came up in the convo and no comparisons were made.
In the Balkans we joke about waging war on each other because there have been so many wars and backstabbing each other throughout history. For us it’s something we do joke about that’s why it can be misunderstood as an insult even though it’s banter.
Were the people you were talking to from the Balkans? Did any indicate feelings of hostility or anything? I’m just trying to understand the overall structure. From what it sounds like the best way I could interpret it…
Anon1: “The Imperium are extremist slavers”
Anon2: “Yeah, if they existed in real life they would be the villains we need to fight”
You: “The Ottoman empire was like that, treated Bulgaria like that. Maybe we need to Nuke modern Turkey for revenge.”
I dunno, it’s hard to say without a transcript really. I could kinda see it either way depending.
A user typed in chat something about extremism and I replied with bombing Turkey. No hostility or bad wishing or anything like that. I can’t add anything more to it :\
It has been over a year since I’ve been banned and never wrote an appeal like I said.
Just for clarification I was given no reason as to why I was banned.
I do know it happened after typing about dropping tsar bomba on Turkey so I presume that’s the reason but if that’s the reason then it’s absolutely not justifiable for a permanent ban!
