I miss supply drops. I’m fine with a “Big Update a Quarter” but I’d like more little updates in between that add a few MKs or hell, even just a suite of balance changes. We have so many under-performing weapons that bringing a few up a notch every month or so would be like getting new weapons. With the new crafting system, there’s little excuse not to be more bold with rebalancing since folks can quickly and easily respec.
My ideal schedule would be like.
Patch/Store cycle every 2 weeks.
Dev Blog/Comms every alternating 2 weeks.
Supply Drop every 4 weeks (Pretty much a patch with at least 1 new piece of content or multiple changes to existing weapons/abilities)
1 big update every quarter.
And Events whenever ya’ll feel like it I guess. 2 a quarter?
But I know game dev’s a fickle mistress and the like so I ain’t gonna do more than complain about it. Complaining about Darktide is a Darktide past-time.
Honestly subtitle person deserves some kind of award or recognition, the subtitles are consistently absolute fire. @FatsharkStrawHat Any chance of a dev blog or interview or something with subtitle person?
I second this! I want to know more about the subtitle pipeline.
But if we’re asking for blogs here, I still want to know what happened to Excise Vault. Why did it get quarentined for so long. Is it still contagious? I want the efforts of the poor soul who had to fix it to be publicized because that’s thankless work no doubt.
Also, I want to know about the writer who makes the flavor text for weapons and cosmetics. Is it the same person doing the subtitles? Is it one person doing all the writing? Or are there multiple people taking shifts? Because that’s a lot of new lore being output every 2 weeks. And some of the best bits of writing come from the flavor text.
I can absolutely try to do that ahahhaha. They are my favourite part, too.

The way difficulty is achieved in havoc is the problem; if enemies just one shot you even more now it isn’t an improvement. I hope ‘upping’ the difficulty doesn’t further pigeonhole people into meta builds.
I’m fond of “Warp Distortion” myself, if they don’t want to mix other chaos gods up in this (Although frankly, I’d really like them to mix more chaos gods up in this. Tzeetch is definitely the one most likely to interfere in their siblings affairs in an indirect fashion that doesn’t require Grey Knight intervention or what have you)
The description could be something vague like “Something feels off.” So they can throw that on the end of any combination of modifiers.

Yeah, I hope the difficulty is more focused around smashing metas than just tweaking numbers.
But new modifiers could theoretically solve this problem.
I made a post awhile back that listed a series of example modifiers that would necessitate different teams/builds. Now not all these are gold, they’re just examples of ways modifiers could force people to play differently.
So it’s not outside the realm of possibility that new modifiers could change the meta. But the ones we have now? I don’t even bother reading them, the prescription’s always the same.
Some brass knuckles or other fist weapon would be a nice addition to these much needed and deserved Ogryn changes.

Rotating cosmetic shop, Hero Shooter nonsense, cosmetics tied to specific classes, yeah I got one of those I don’t need another.

We know they are creating new weapons and its totally absurd staff psykers have 4 staffs, I mean thats less ranged options than ogryn. I dont even understand what the hold up is I truly dont. Were going to lose our minds if we have to wait a year for a new staff just give it to us already.
Speaking of the meta I havent touched a dueling sword or the plasma gun in months. The only thing currently keeping me playing vet is a full on grenade build with a bolt pistol which I also cant stop using.
Another update to a gamemode nobody’s gonna play in a few weeks other than a few hardcore player, and ANOTHER new gamemode to separate playerbase even more when lately around 3k people played in the morning and at night.
I don’t understand Fatshark’s obsession with those gamemodes with limited replayability, instead they should focus to expand both normal and auric mission board with new modifiers to improve quickplay experience so that each mission feels different.
New weapons and weapon marks, new blessing, new enemies, new maps and balance changes are always more prefferable to increase the replayability and randomness of the core part of the game.
Ogryn buffs are cool, though Vet has as many useless talent nodes and the other two ultimates (other than VOC) are hilariously underpowered and counter intuitive to class’ design in the current meta, not to mention Smoke Grenade and other two auras other than Survivalist.
The player feedback to HAVOC is that its a pointless mode that is objectively LESS content than not having it - AS it removes most builds and forces the most degenerate of metas.
YOUR PROBLEM ISNT DIFFICULTY, YOUR PROBLEM IS ASSBACKWARDS BALANCING OF BASELINE CONTENT.
(P.S. Iam not angry at you strawhat, but seeing double downing of a mode where EACH character has to play a EXTREMELY degenerate and specific build just to have it possible … who the f-ck is that person who fatshark listent to? The same person who said pre unlocked&loaded itemisation was good?)
And no word on talents which LITERALLY do nothing and talents which quadruple damage.
Ogryn rework means nothing as long as we dont see all talents being looked at.
Since it doesnt take a rocket scientist to change x=y values on talents - WHICH QUADRUPLE DAMAGE MULTIPLICATIVELY
Fatshark, you have a knob for EVERY - SINGLE - DAMAGE - INTERACTION in the game, for every single weapon.
WHY IS DUELING SWORD ONESHOTING 5 crushers in time in which THUNDER HAMMER kills one?
^As long as these not addressed Havoc will be just a mode for those.
Why dont you share statistics on weapons and talent builds in havoc?
Why not show your community 99.9% dueling sword pickrate?
Or 99.9% same talents for 1-2 builds per character?
Stop doing weaves, go back, make BASELINE GAME CONTENT
