I think conditions make Maelstrom interesting and I really like extra snipers, dogs, mutant, poxbursters, and specials to monsters.
However, I think some conditions worsen gaming experience. For example Ventilation Purge and Power Supply Interruption. I really enjoy the challenge but I don’t think unable to see or can barely see through the fog is enjoyable. I still play it since I only play Maelstrom so I don’t have a lot of choice. But to be honest what is fun about having our screens white and cloudy the whole run?
I think FS should implement V2 deeds in this aspect. Can only die once or not at all, or no med station? Or something of that nature that is interesting and challenging rather than fog and darkness.
If you want to keep high play time I think this should be improved. Personally, when I see fog and darkness conditions, I only play once and come back later when new rotation is up.
I personally find fog/sniper gauntlets a lot of fun, but I also like the idea of Deed modifiers, so I’ll share some ideas I have here:
Tainted Stimms: A shipment of tainted stimms has arrived in the area. Significantly more stimms will spawn. Using a non-green stimm has doubled effect, but corrupts 10% max HP.
Cursed Region: Move quickly! No matter what, you will gain corruption over time. Slightly more green stimms spawn.
Blood Tax: Med stations are disabled. Two more healthkits will spawn.
Lethal: Players will die instantly once they run out of health, ignoring wounds.
Daemon Territory: Significantly more Daemonhosts will spawn.
Tyrant: A slow-moving but invulnerable foe will stalk you throughout the level. Don’t get caught by it.
Deep Wounds: Khorne has intervened and cursed the area. Players and enemies alike will take double damage.
This sounds creepy as heck! Reminds me of Resident Evil.
If it looked like the Keeper of Secrets (demon version of slender man lol) then super extra creepy vibes .
Or maybe it could be a slow moving fog that constantly pushes forwards…if you step in it for more than a few seconds then something unspeakable grabs you and pulls you into oblivion (death).
