A am so tired of

People not knowing their ass from a hole in the ground who still join auric missions.
Like c’mon man if you can’t finish normal damnation while half a sleep and watching a movie at the same time you are simply not ready for auric missions.
It’s literally ruining the for me at the moment, I just can’t believe the shyte I see sometimes.
(And no people on the discord channel aren’t much better)

Also tiresome Fatshark, is that the game really doesn’t need an army of disablers being spawned every 2 seconds to make auric “super hard”. And since teamplay seems to be a lost skill somehow, this is only extra frustrating and infuriating to the extreme.
The noise of some mobs alone drive me nuts sometimes (WHAAAAAAAAAA! WHAAAAAAAAA! WHAAAAAAA!!! x10 and then add some annoying howling dogs to this too)

Disablers were never meant to try and simply screw over your players just for the hell of it, they are meant to be a danger to whomever separates from to the team to go play Rambo by themselves.
So the over use of them in DT seems a little cheap and arbitrary to simply make the game hard, but it def doesn’t make the game more fun imho.
Just ragequit inducing…

team mates are the hidden difficulty modifier.

I’ve played games with players who are champs, stay in coherency the whole run and stuff like CIVI seems like we’re walking through malice… Then I’ve played games where I’m the only one whose alive and I’ve ended the mission having to clutch things 3 times and we have 27 deaths to our name.

The biggest inconsistency you sound like you’re facing is your team mates, so I would suggest using the darktide discord and find some regulars to play with, because no matter what fat shark does, pugging will always be a wildcard.

Good tip is to turn off in game music completely. Less audio clutter.

If you cant run through (not speed run) the damnation map as a team

If you need a choke point every wave

If you have to run backwards when there is a horde coming, the team needs to definitely go back to heresy.

Too many times have i had my games die because the 3 other pubs follow 1 or all 3 of these trap, time wasting, mechanics.

I only play with one ear listening to audio.
Basically forcing myself to 360 everytime i hear an audio queue.
2 ears are for posers.

Yes agree RE people punching above their weight in auric. Also mega agree about disablers. They’re real fun sponges when spawned in the ludicrous quantities that Fs have recently ramped up to. Combat should be the meat and veg of the game but currently it’s dodgeball simulator 2024.

I’ve noticed the biggest unlearned skill overall is that you can dodge and move when aiming down sights. A bit of experience is required, as you eventually learn the movement of the aim when moving to compensate, but survivability goes up drastically when you have a bit of mobility when using a gun.

Situational awareness is much more important, keep a good pace but don’t be a rushing kunt either.

Yeah for sure, dying way ahead of the pack is a bit dumber than dying behind the pack i think.

I suggest you start doing some back exercises to broaden your shoulders, because as much as we’d like to, there won’t ever be a real way to assess a players skill and bar their way to Auric.

You do have a point about special spam though, I hope we’ll soon move on from this and have more elites and everything else. Honestly having 7 mutants in a row is a bit silly and annoying more than anything else most times.

Very true.

Good at shooting, dodging etc

But 360 Awareness is important. The split second decision making next.

  • Still to this day I don’t understand the slow reaction speed of people to untrap someone. I’m there thinking come on it is literally one sec. Such slow reaction.

  • The objective is right next to you, hit it.

  • Someone goes down it shows on UI, spam grenades at them, check if the team going to back you up first, don’t rush it unless confident but decide quickly.

  • Randoms simply not understand target priority and happily chop away at trash mobs and not focus elites or disablers first. Maybe they think it is someone else’s problem.

  • Randoms never looking behind - Just all keep looking forward thinking the next person will deal with back spawns. If all assume that then everyone won’t do it and disabler hits from behind. Tunnel vision of what’s ahead only.

  • Doing the VT2 style everyone keep running forward and not checking if someone left behind.

I am double the age of average player my reaction speed should be slower than most.

Doing a certain amount of penances would be a good way to help reduce it imo. By forcing people to at least play a reasonable amount of time as each archytpe then they become more aware of each role and will have certainly played though many variations of tricky situation the game can conjure.

It’s just a much more logical and thorough version of the level 30 gate.

Yesterday me and my mate played a monstrous mod on Enclavum Baross (really fun map now in certain sections). By the bridge event we 6 people join, die and leave before the new joiners turned out to be capable of standing up. We had few butt clenching clutches and some unnecessary heroics  One of the most fun games I had on psyker in long time.

weekends man

The room that you drop down into, at the start of the arena carnival map, is like a teammate casino :joy:

I just played it on auric and went through about 6 different team mates before we opened the doors to the next section.

I wish I could show those players what they would have been on a winning game if they’d just not quit… But then again that room is a good auric litmus test Tbf.

I agree it can be implemented, but They don’t want to, and I think that if they would add it it needs to be fairly studied. You’d just need 2-3 key penances to eliminate the people that can barely function but at the same time we must take care not to become giga elitist and stuff. Surely there are people that try Auric and then think “Ok I’m not good enough yet, I have to hone my skill more to reach that level of gameplay!” and serves as a motivator of sorts. Then there’s the dudes that don’t really care apparently.
