Shame. Im wondering if this will ever get adressed or at least acknowledged by fatshark, or we are just gonna be stuck on 23.11. forever
I know, it’s weird, 23.11.1 doesn’t work any better for me, at least i can stay on the latest drivers.
Performance was horrible for me on 24.6.1, but it has been fixed in this driver. I’m rocking a 7900 GRE and a Ryzen 5800X. I did turn off 4G/SAM in BIOS and Adrenalin since someone told me that could help, and I haven’t tried turning it on again. But my performance is buttery smooth now. I’m also using framegen though with a mod, and in this new driver I can use Anti-Lag together with it which is a bonus. It did actually feel smoother with the setting turned on vs off. Anyways, I don’t need the 23.11.1 anymore which is great. Hope this helps someone somewhere somehow
Thank you for testing the game in the newest driver, I admire your hope.
I compared the last stable AMD driver (23.11.1) with the latest AMD driver (24.7.1).
Latest driver is just as stable as the old 23.11.1 driver. I can’t see any difference at all
So it looks like we finally have a stable new driver again
Left side is 23.11 and right side 24.7.1
What are your specs, and did you have fsr enabled?
I feel motivated I will try to test drivers again, though like tool2101 I didn’t experience much improvement in performance with drivers 23.11.1. will post results later.

For me the newest driver is filled with stutters, had to roll back to 23.11.1 for god knows what time to get the smooth gameplay experience.

I don’t understand the game, driver 24.5.1 couldn’t go more than 60fps no matter the setting and with some heavy stutters, and at the very end of my tests somehow after trying 23.11.1 and 24.7.1 it was now giving me similar performance as the other drivers, maybe is the shader cache that doesn’t load correctly to the point that if I don’t clean it directly it hinders performance. I don’t know and thankfully I have finally level up all my 4 characters, so I won’t be playing this game until performance is consistent.
Here is the video where I compared the game with 3 different drivers, took me a long time since the game doesn’t let you freely choose the mission level, you have to wait up for the mission to appear. not going to lie I had fun now that the game was running nice and stable.
I watched practically the entire video, i can see that the stutters are pretty noticeable, when loading into the mourningstar after a mission, in the middle of a mission when someone joins, loading into a mission in the valkyrie, or in the loading screen, but even with that i envy your performance, my stutters are at least x10 times worse (probably because my hardware is worse than yours), not that yours shouldn’t be adressed. This needs to be fixed by Fatshark or AMD, whoever is responsible should do a better job.
Other than that, have you tried the frame generation mods? your average fps are very good, if you wanted you could easily reach +180 fps.
Well before making the video, with driver 24.5.1 I had a lot of heavy stutters and reaching more than 60fps was only possible if I enter the meat grinder, in missions was a pain because the 60fps dropped to 40 and with the constant stutters it was hard to react to enemies, activating fsr didn’t give any performance boost. when I started testing with 23.11.1 I was amazed by how fluid it felt (ignoring the little stutters), thats why I sometimes moved the camera in a weird way, when I return to driver 24.5.1 for some reason the game actually performed well. I don’t know if it has something to do with the shader cache,I have noticed that when you play your first game after installing drivers you get the same micro stutters as when you load the shaders, I didn’t show it in the videos, but I played 1 first match in each driver to get rid of those initial stutters.
And I agree with you that this should be fixed by either AMD or Fatshark, I think AMD has some fault since after the release of driver 24.6.1 and 24.7.1 I can’t launch pacific drive, it seems they have some fault with some of the issues games are presenting.
I did another fresh Windows installation and then installed the driver 24.7.1. As I said, I can’t see any difference to the 23.11.1 driver. it runs very well. Of course there is little stuttering here and there but it’s all still playable.
But what really bothers me is that many players still have problems with the latest drivers from AMD and continue to use driver 23.11.1. The driver 23.11.1 really seems to be the last 100% stable driver for EVERYONE and that’s exactly what makes me really angry because the driver is now very old and at some point you can experience a loss of performance due to new games
Fatshark and AMD don’t say anything about it at all. Nobody really seems to be interested.
Strangely enough, I haven’t had any problems with any other game except Darktide.
On Reddit, here in the forum and on Google itself you can find many posts from others who have performance problems.
Luckily the game is running stable again for me at least with driver 24.7.1.
23.11.1 doesn’t work better than other drivers for all players (at least not for me), but it might be the best drivers for most AMD users.
The stuttering is getting worse again for me, even with 23.11.1 the game no longer runs 100% well after I did a rollback.
For me it is clear that I will uninstall the game and never want to have anything to do with Fatshark again.
Also, I’m going to sell this crappy AMD graphics card and switch to Nvidia
Normally Fatshark would have to pay me for wasting my time with this crappy game
bye
