You still believe that all of those statements were hyperboles?
OP is playing damnation and complains about how difficult it is (instead of playing on a lower difficulty), and has obviously no idea how to play the game (contnuously claims that dots are worthless and flamers can not control hordes).
Where do all the people come from, who claim to see „many gun psykers“?
Across probably 1400 matches or so (almost all of them on damnation), i have seen about 5 of them.
That‘s completely fine.
But such a person should not play on highest difficulty and then complain about the difficulty being too high and some weapons being useless, when the actual problems are :
playing on a difficulty far above own skill
not knowing the most basic thing about using certain weapons
not wanting to accept that those are the actual problems
You can get by in standard damnation with decent fundamental knowledge and teamwork skills. It’s not the highest difficulty, not by a long shot.
As for “the most basic things about certain weapons”, unless you go testing fire weapons in the meatgrinder or specifically go hunting for information about it, there’s no feedback given by the game at all that the dots can stack.
Why do you keep making irrelevant points like this one?
Damnation is the highest base difficulty.
When a player struggles with base damnation, nobody forces them to keep trying an to complain about difficulty.
The player is free to play on a lower difficulty.
OP chooses to keep playing on a difficulty that is too high, and apparently very annoying, then comes here to complain about it.
you could actually use those weapons in a mission (or watch someone use them) and notice that the enemies actually die (as shown in the 2 videos posted in this thread; yes they were taken in the meatgrinder, but performance in missions is the same)
there are 2 feats and 2 blessings that tell you about soulblaze stacking. Also, there is a blessing that tells you about burn stacks; also all 4 classes have access to bleeds and i think every single source of bleed mentions stacks (and i told OP about dot stacking in my first reply).
when people tell you that dots are actually pretty good, rethink your position instead of insisting that they are wrong
OP makes his own life hard, by making up problems and not doing anything about it.
And you are trying to nitpick your way through this discussion instead of simply accepting the truth.
Because you keep acting like everyone’s supposed to know everything about everything and then crapping on them when they don’t.
Ok fair, however the in-game feedback is identical. The visuals from one dot is identical to 10, and good luck timing the TTK on individual enemies in the middle of a horde while everything is on fire.
As I’ve been saying, you and OP are talking about different use cases. Dots are good when stacked and buffed, they’re abysmal when spread out thinly across lots of things. Both statements are correct. Whether or not OP is using it “right” is irrelevant. They’re complaining that the way they are using them feels like it should be stronger than it is. That’s how player feedback works. And frankly, they’re right. There is zero benefit to the fire weapons actually using dots over having the weapons’ base damage just be stronger. If you can’t apply a dot and expect it to kill even the weakest enemies in a reasonable time, why even have it in the game?
OP complained about difficulty.
I told OP to try playing on a lower difficulty.
OP said that he is playing on damnation, which means that there is a lot of easier content available (basically the entire standard playlist).
What you say here, has absolutely nothing to do with that, or with a reason for you telling me about the basic requirements to be successful on damnation.
After the most recent replies by OP, it has been shown that i did not misunderstand.
If i did in fact misunderstand at any point, OP is free to correct me (but did not do so).
“My original point was not, that the flamer is always the best pick for the hardest difficulties, but that it is definitely not useless (which is what OP claimed).”
Actually, I was talking about the psyker flame staff. But it’s really not that different. No. I claimed that it was less efficient than any direct damage weapon. You want to straw man me go get a massage. You obviously have nothing better to do.
You literally called dots useless and said that there is no reason to use them.
Then you doubled down on it in your follow up posts, and said a few other things that are also completely wrong.
Stop lying and get over yourself.
So now you disagree with your post from a few minutes ago (where you claim that i am strawmanning, when stating the fact that you claimed „dots are useless“) and admit that you said it was useless…
And it is still not less efficient or less effective when it comes to deleting hordes.
Well one difference is, that you are lying and i am not.
The other difference is, that i pointed out what you are lying about and how you are contradicting yourself.
So it actually makes sense when i ask you to stop lying.
When you tell me the same thing, although i was right, it just makes you look petty.
