One of the objectives (start generator, load power cell, interrogate) uses the old style of minigame instead of the new one introduced with this mode. As far as I am aware this is the only one. Is it an oversight?

Might be they are interchangeable now, I’ve seen the new minigame cropping up in old maps semi-randomly too.

Yeah in old maps its definitely intended, and was sorely needed especially for ones where the second objective or second phase of the objective is yet more data interrogations.

But you can progress the new minigame sequentially, which is much better suited for this game mode. Attempting to do this one in voltaic storm is a joke, especially solo where bolts have no other possible target. It needs to be removed. But I would like to see all of the old mini games added to this mode. Like the sine wave one or the train game. Leave the OG and hab drayko ones as far away from this game mode as they can get.
