Why do specials and elites kicks have a longer reach than swings of a greatsword

This is more of a side note, but one day we will see that promised fix to being soft disabled:

  • Players no longer get damaged by other enemies when soft disabled by mutants, hounds, chaos spawns, or when swallowed by Beast of Nurgle

Some time in 2030.

:cigarette: i made a thread about this not too long ago, could you give me the link to that patch note?

It’s completely fair to get damaged by other enemies while disabled, I don’t see the problem.

why should anyone bother helping disabled teammates if they get insta nuked over the slightest inconvenience?

What’s the point of a disabler if getting caught by it it’s just 2 second break from the game? No real consequence of me making a mistake.

I thought disablers disabled players, lets try to stay consistent here with thinking. Getting dropped for what is basically getting hit once is not a great design. And worse than kicks is when you get literally 1 framed in the time it takes for the mutant to stop moving with you in hand by gun enemies in the room when they are still targeting you freely. That feels so janky and unfinished I do not buy that is working as intended.

Other than Trappers, special kick is the second worst thing cause by laggy servers/desync. There are periods when the game becomes super laggy and that is when Specials will start pre-emptively chain kick you Liu Kang style before you even get to reach them with your melee weapon. Good to see people start talking about this ass mechanic

I also love how specials occasionally break, get stuck and try to kick you from 50 meters away. This triggers the backstab sound cue even if you are way out of range. That’s the only time we get reliable sound cues with specials btw…

What’s the point of a disabler if they might as well just kill you outright?

Oh no!, emperor forbid that there is something that actually makes damage to the players. Then one gets surprised there are so many treads against power creep.

What’s the point of dealing damage to the player if it doesn’t down them? It’s actually a 0 second break from the game? No real consequence of me making a mistake.

So you are saying every mistake should be instant death but disablers should be no threat at all? That’s not very coherent.

Am I saying that? Read my messages again instead of asking. They’re not very long.

I read your messages, and you are asking for players disabled to not be targeted by enemies, which is at this point like asking to remove disablers from the game since they barley do any damage.
(Btw how things are now you are barley a target of enemies when disabled, it’s only if we’re already targeting you before you got disabled)

Both Chaos Spawn and BoN apply corruption if you are grabbed. The same applies to hounds, only they do it until you die. Mutants bash your head in and often split you up with your team.

That’s barely no damage, unless you insist on being disingenuous.

I’m asking for that? Can you quote the relevant passage that states that?

I guess I must insist… The beast of nurgle is the only disable that deal significant corruption damage and it’s not by definition a disabler, all the others deal almost negligible damage.

Don’t play games

Then please explain what is the point of this answer?

Hounds and BoN do not do negligible corruption damage, especially in Havoc. BoN swallow is a soft disable state. Even Chaos Spawn’s bite in Havoc is a significant chunk of your HP bar, which you cannot as easily regen.

Anyway there is no real discussion here. We must be playing a different game.

Yes we must, because I doubt he was talking about the slime or luckily getting immediately spit back out. What are you talking about? Or I guess what is negligible to you?
