Why can't we pick havoc server?

It’s honestly insane that this game has so little player choice that we can’t even pick the server we play on for havoc. I’m from Europe, and if I want to play in a lobby with another European, a West coast US and an East coast NA, the game will probably automatically put us on European servers, which means the west coast player will have 200+ ping and the game will basically be unplayable for them. If we had server selection I could manually set the server to NA east so nobody would have more than around 120 ping.

But fatshark won’t add server selection, let alone mission/mutator selection if people don’t complain about it, which is unfortunately the only way changes seem to get made in this game

If you change your server location in the mission terminal, it’s also changed for Havoc

You have region selection available in the normal mission map, bottom right (or E by default on PC), named Mission Terminal Options.

Why is it hidden there and not named properly? Well, your guess is as good as mine.

This will effect your Havoc lobbies too.

That only changes your party finder region, but as I said if you have multiple players from different regions you can’t pick the server that’s best for you because the game chooses automatically

Whoever starts/pops the assignment/map for Havoc, their server preference will be used, as there are no party leader mechanics.

So if that person uses for instance EU region then the lobby will be put on a EU server.
I’ve experienced this first hand when I played with someone from Australia (and I’m in the EU).

That’s not how it works unfortunately, I can’t play with someone on NA west as a European and put NA east as my server selection to play on NA East, it’ll still pick either NA west or Europe

Interesting because I also play with folks from the US and so far we did not have problems like this.
