Why Arbites Skins Haven’t Been Released

Magnuson acknowledges in the interview (around 8:50) that Arbites have very few cosmetics. Since the Adeptus Arbites wear highly standardized military-police uniforms, creating unique skins could potentially violate the lore, so could it be that GW’s strict restrictions are making it difficult to release additional Arbites cosmetics?

GW lacks fantasy, the Imperium of Man consists of approx. one million settled worlds. Are they really trying to tell us the Adeptus Arbites maintains a very limited number of uniform variants across all those cultures? Silly Brits.

Its probably the real reason why they went for hive scum. After not being able to capitalize on arbites success, they wanted something that gives them more creative freedom to sell mtx. Magnuson even says it to lesser extent.

The Adeptus Arbites very deliberately do not interact with the local culture and all of the Arbites that are stationed at any given precinct-fortress are offworlders. I am willing to believe they maintain the same dress code across the entire Imperium just to reinforce their immutable and unyielding nature.

GW have been shrinking the universe with their “advancing the story”, only like 6-7 people ever actually do anything in the whole galaxy nowadays.

The most interesting part for me is he said that they are fully focused on DT currently. Wich is eeeeeh hard to believe.

Either there will be more content in the near feature, or it’s not true and they are working on a new game like Unreal engine 5 Sigmartide.

Not to mention different climates. Are arbites uniforms all the same in usefulness in desert, ice, volcanoes, rainforest, rocky, ocean, etc. settings? Or in space and in the void? Especially with their classic missing mouth piece?

In rogue trader with your Arbites companion they can wear quite a varying amounts of armour. As well as obtain different looking official arbites armor sets.

I don’t see this for example.

Or this.

I believe this one too?

I get that they’re all similar though.

I mean FS’s go-to seems to be minimal effort re-colours and sometimes slightly different frills on a copied base; e.g., slightly different purity seal placement or a decal; see the recent posts about the re-run of the identical vraks knives and the ever-so-slightly different chaxe skins. I’d wager it’ll happen in time.

Plus, I’m pretty sure there’s a red recolour of the Revelatum(iirc, the only premium one we’ve had so far) plate in the files now too.

Though, it wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve also spent some time over the last few months trying to gear up the cops’ possible MTX alongside the scum under GW’s watch in prep for the new update.

Who knows? :person_shrugging:

The question mark is wrong here, this reason was the most probable cause for lack of arbites cosmetics. I think he even mentions something along the line that scum will have more.

First two are of an older design, GW probably doesn’t want them to be anywhere just like they are pushing primaris armor mark over older marks.

I like the old one more, tbh.

Third one is not arbites but Palanite Enforcers, and that cosmetic set is in DT.

That dude is a planetary enforcer.

You can also have Planetary (or system, or sector) Arbites. The Galactic Adeptus Arbites tends to view them with contempt however.

So many Darktide PAID cosmetics are just pure re-colours, retextures or mix and match of existing assets anyway :man_shrugging:

They had a lot of job listings for UE5 programmers and such 2 years ago, but I haven’t seen anything like that for a while now. They’re only hiring for a handful of positions. So either they filled those positions and they have a team working on a new game in the background or they gave up on the idea and he’s speaking the truth.

What is true is that Hive Scum marked one of the first times that traditionally Vermintide-focused designers like Theodor (the dev mentioned in the talents and abilities devblog) have developed stuff for Darktide, as far as I can tell.

Hopefully next year will be our year, eh?

Having Fatshark actually focus its full attention on one game for a while would be an experience I am certainly ready for.

i swear every time arbites cosmetics come up someone brings up the stripperbites with her tactical high heels and titty plate, I’m all for literally anything else but please not this :sob:

anyway i think the main reason arbites is so limited, is because the tabletop model literally has one(1) armour design for the entire squad, i do wish we’d get palanite enforcer skins for them though

Lol, I was trying to find all the rogue trader arbites armors but I just used what was in the wiki. Not any specific preference nor desire on my part.

But as pointed out I get them not being allowed nor wanting to use “older” looks.
