When was best?

Yes this certainly adds to the frustration, especially as new maps and biomes are absolutely top of my wish list.

I can’t help but wonder what kind of game we’d have if they decided to fully lean into the strengths of the setting they chose. They really decided to include a rogue trader and their ship, put us in an inquisitorial warband, and then stuff us in the basement of one single hive city. The Arbites class alone resulted in the largest player spike post-launch, even greater than patch 13 and the traitor’s curse that followed.

What if they had simply foregone this whole reject arc and just done popular factions that 40k fans actually might want to see?

Imagine a Darktide that instead of focusing on one hive city, spanned multiple planets within the Moebian domain, perhaps over a longer period of time. You could still re-use many assets given its all imperial architecture in the same sector of space. Classes being Scions, Sororitas, literally anything you can think of.

Just a bit of dreaming on my part, but I don’t think it’s completely unfounded with the way the Arbites release played out. It makes me wonder about what they could’ve pulled off if they’d just balled out from the get go.

Yeah totally, I have often thought the same.

Why not just be a strike team that gets sent wherever needed?

Maybe we will at least visit some local moons or a nearby Space Hulk as DLC. One can certainly dream!

At release.

Because the game had so much potential and I had high hopes.

Now I know FS is incompetent.

PS: Maelk has never been touched since release and is still useless.

I think game is now best it ever was, i 1st played when there was still old crafting system, when i realised how it works mostly by watching youtube, i uninstalled it instantly, returned only after unlocked and loaded update, like on almost on the day of it’s release, which fixed it for the most part.

I also wanted class reworks, i didn’t like how they were, severe build limitations, i especially disliked ogryn and while eventually i got used to playing him and was somewhat good at it, rework was a welcome change. Recent rework for all classes for the most part is good, i would change some things here and there, but i mostly pleased with it(like 60% pleased) .

While i still get endless 2014+, backend and out of memory errors, they appear not as often now, mostly in havoc or curshes druing or after havoc. Almost no problems in auric, except out of memory of course.

Weapons slowly, but getting improved, you can now in auric malestorm use at least one mark of each weapon. I still think that many of them kinda bad, especially since i am playing havoc now a lot, but it’s clear devs work in that direction, at the snail pace that is, but work.

I was pleased with new class, arbites not my dream class, but it is better than nothing, after all classes got reworked it is no longer the outlier in power along with ogryn, i’d say it even got dropped in power.

If the original game was released with crafting and the current maps, it would have been the best… Now it’s the worst, at least for me
