If I’m not mistaken the sights are slightly misaligned, yeah. Try aiming slightly higher than you think you need to. If you can’t see the head behind the gun that’s ok. That was advice I was given and it dramatically improved my aim.
Alternatively, download the weapon customisation mod and put an actually sight on it. Makes it 10 times better to use.
I feel like this post is telling on yourself a little. The main way you would end up with less ammo post patch is to not pull your own weight killing elites and specials. If you’re not being significantly carried by the team you should end up with at worst similar ammo economy to pre patch.
Not against the new passive proccing off team kills mind you. Not really a fan of things that encourage “race your team mates to get kills” gameplay generally.
I can see this being a factor actually, as this means other classes rely more on ammo pickups, so there is less for vets to pick up also.
I always liked ammo being a resource you have to manage, and take some risk to find extra ammo on the map. The risk is fairly small anyway, all you are risking is some extra special spawn being sent after you.
I see some people unload their ammo into the horde, which could be equally as easily killed in melee, and then complain they have no ammo left for actual important targets.
if you are low havoc level you should definetly host a game yourself, you’ll find plenty of good samaritans that just wants to help you while they test their builds
this is actually a very valid observation, as a bolter vet missing out on all those 1% procs from my teammates in cohesion kills is very real and noticeable, especially when you are stuck in melee and fighting a horde and counting on your ammo reserve to restock eventually
furthermore, stealing a special kill to veteran has become even more damaging for him than before
debetable, 0.5% extra with the caveat that your team mates won’t contribute on your 1% procs
its probably not even true for rec lasguns, which they got more efficient because of the dead shot buffs rather than survivalist ‘‘buff’’
i want to remind you all that calling a 0.5% every 5 seconds a buff is ludicrous
+50% of nothing is still nothing
if it was 1% (+100%) on new survivalist you woulnd’t still feel any difference
the long cooldown is what botched it
especially for fast firing weapons like recon lasgun, survivalist affected them little even back when it didn’t have a cooldown
even back when scavenger gave you 2.5% of researve rounded up and no cooldown it was still barely noticiable on high ammo count weapons
i will not be gaslit to think that 1.5% that can only occur every 5 seconds if the stars align actually do you any good
Agreed with it not strictly being “more ammo” when you consider the proc condition, but this section feels like a refusal to actually process the numbers.
Let’s assume a proc every 10 seconds on average across a mission, double the actual cooldown, so not ideal circumstances by and means. How long is the average Havoc game? Like 30 minutes. So 6x30 for 180 procs in total. At 0.5% per proc that’s still 90% of your reserve filled across a mission, for multiple players. Like that still adds to a fair bit of extra ammo in a match, I just won’t be convinced this somehow isn’t valuable.
Sure it doesn’t matter in Aurics that are generally much quicker, but also ammo isn’t really an issue below Havoc anyway, like you won’t reasonably run dry there even without survivalist at all.
I just think you’re running too much on “vibes” here, for something that has a cumulative effect inherently hard to notice in the moment.
that will or will not be in choesion with you, or that might be classes that don’t need that ammo thus wasting their potential, i think you all overestimate survivalist aura in regards of the real benefit team mates gets from it
you need to consider that most ammo pickups will go to veteran anyways, and he will be the sole beneficiary of any ammo for the most part in any game
i keep tagging ammo to my team mates in every game and they just refuse to take even if i’m 3/4 full
there is a reason why i don’t do math like these, my ‘‘vibes’’ includes all the facets of the matter, dead times, specials coming in clusters, your time in melee with non elites, time spent on fighting bosses, time spent looting crates and ultimately getting left behind by your team mates because of it thus falling out of choesion
you know what, i think i’ll drop survivalist on my builds from now on, even on my bolter vet, not to just prove a point, but because looking at your math in regards of everything i feel like its going to be a better deal
i’d be getting 1.12 bolt shells instead of 1.68 for each proc, i didn’t need the 0.5% before this update after all, so i don’t think i’d be so much worse off that way
The question I would ask here is …what are you getting in return? Other two auras provide buffs which frankly no one really needs. Every class is swimming in damage buffs at this point, and you are unlikely to provide value with movement speed either. This has been always THE problem with Survivalist as an Aura.
What should have happened is that Survivalist should have been the class unique passive, regenerating some ammo to the player and team mates, and that slot should have been taken by something new all together.
