I recently had to (yet again) delete the shader cache and ever since I’ve had this visual bug where the psyker’s energy shield becomes non-seethrough. This applies to the bubble shield and also the normal shield wall.
As you can imagine that’s quite the hindrance to playing the game.
The issue does not occure in the meat grinder (at all), but happens 100% of the time in missions.
I managed to “solve” the issue regarding the weird visuals on the psyker Shield, by setting all lighting related options from Medium → High. The Shield looks as intended now.
HOWEVER, this causes the game to randomly hard crash my entire grafics card during loadscreens. What does hardcrashing a grafics card mean? It means it stops outputing anything at all, and once I have rebooted, Windows will have disabled the entire device in the device manager, until I manually re-enable it there.
This issue is what caused me to lower the settings in the first place, but apparently now I have to pick one.
Fatshark how about you finally fix your AMD integration?
Edit: And no my card is not broken. It’s like 3 months old and any other application runs perfectly fine.
I can reasonably confirm that the crashing of the system grafics appears to be related to having global illumination and possibly Light Quality on High.
No conclusion for the shield bug so far but it appears to be working as intended with these settings on High.
Edit:
Ok I can now confirm having Global Illumination on Low and Light Quality on High toggles the shield bug and also the crashing. So it’s defintly Light Quality which is the issue.
All settings on low/medium, Light Quality on Medium → Shield is bugged, no crashing.
All settings low/medium, Light Quality on High → Shield is no longer bugged, frequent crashing as described in OP.
Please fix.
PS:
Since the crash uploader seems to work again, here’s the latest crash report from me, but this might only be because of paragraph below:

I tried the windows keyboard shortcut to restart the grafic drivers (win + cntrl + shift + b) after the game caused a system grafics crash. No effect except that the game’s background music stopped (assume the game crashed because of the driver restart). No sure what that means but there you go.
Ok, I just now got that crash even with Global Ilumination at Low and Light Quality on Medium. I had no crashes with those settings for a good while, so idk what’s happening anymore. GPU RAM? Clock Speed? Why would that cause the entire card to get disabled by windows? No idea. I’m at my witts end.
