No. You can already do an overhead with the light swing. Why would you remove options rather than just buff the light swing?
Because it would let you target what’s right in frount of you when your been swarmed.
But C light attacks enough damage to kill everything but ogyrns anyway its just the aiming part.
I get where you’re coming from, but for as long as the charged hit only hits a single enemy with no cleave, it’s an actual detriment that you can’t use the heavy swings for additional damage when there’s trash mobs next to your target.
The way I see it, making the charged heavy swing an overhead instead of a sweep isn’t removing an option since that option is already single target with no cleave.
Though I’ll add, I would rather see the charge on the hammer instead have the ability to punch through a couple of poxwalkers and be able to still hit an elite instead.
@Bababoofa @Nisverah again that’s only an issue because the disparity between charged light attacks and charged heavy attacks is needlessly huge. So instead of making two attacks have the same animation, as well as creating a dissonance between the uncharged and charged animations, just close the gap in charged damage significantly.
The charged heavy attacks need to cleave till they hit an elite, similar to Evicerator. Anything else would be a side grade at best. The disparity between charged light and heavy attacks really should also be closed a good bit though.
I’ve been playing a whole night with the TH, and I’m beginning to believe more and more that everything is by design otherwise the weapon would be too over-powered. Elaboration: with the charged heavy attack, you destroy monstrosities. I killed the demon host in 5 hits and a beast of nurgle too. A Crusher – the most tough elite if I’m not mistaken! – dies in 2 (TWO!) charged heavy attacks. Need I say more? Am I wrong to say that maybe the weapon works exactly how it should? I’m not convinced, either, but maybe I should be.
Just a little something I haven’t confirmed myself yet: Yesterday I did a light charged attack on a Reaper and the blue mark it left was on his neck/shoulder and not his head. Now, either I was off in my aim or the light attack isn’t as perfectly vertical as I thought it was. In other words, if the light attack never strikes the heads it’s not surprising I find it lacking. I think I just missed, though, and I’ll test it today.
its a weak weapon comparative. and i dont just mean to the stupidly broken power sword that makes everything look weak.
problems
no target priority - this affects a lot of things , psykers brain burst etc there is no intelligent targetting, its not going to hit the rager your aiming at its going to hit the dreg in the way
impractical charge attack- it self stuns, has no cleave no cc , no targeting use it at a special in a pack , you stun yourself kil one dreg and get your ass kicked, the self stun is mass feedback but its not doing the work to make it worth paying that bill. a shockwave that stumbles / flinches an aoe would be nice.
the charge up is just too long lasts too short , make it instant but an internal cooldown on it (3 seconds?)
Make the special attack cleave through the horde with normal damage and when it comes to contact with an elite it unleashes the blast and stops.
Make it not as clunky, charging up heavy attack should not make you crawl 1cm a second.
Remove the animation lock.
Still not OP due to long charge up times which are a suicide at heresy+ but way more viable.
Also, why cant you charge heavy attack while running? Like daggers feel soooo much better just due to the fact you can sprint attack. Would be great QoL update for every weapon. I hate when I want to charge the heavy to rush down an elite, only to mess up because it makes you go crawl speed.
