Transferring Xbox save data to PC or crossplay implementation

Hi,

I was curious if it was at all possible to transfer my xbox save data to steam. The reason I want to do this is because I want to play on the more active steam community while keeping my cataclysm challenge cosmetics and character progression.

I understand you can technically play on a pc input through the xbox store however this is via cloud play on meaning that you are still playing in xbox only servers. The only mediation to fix this is to add crossplay so that you can launch directly from the pc instead of going through cloud play.

If anybody knows of anyway to transfer data please help :slight_smile:

Hey, there is no way to transfer the data. Steam and xbox are completely different systems and the only way it could work is if they implemented cross account saving but sadly I dont see this happening and would be surprised if they did.

btw crossplay doesnt mean accounts are shared between platforms, so even if they implemented crossplay on Vermintide 2 it still wouldnt mean your account could be shared between steam and xbox.

Very few games have cross-accounts, Warframe being the main one I can think of right now.

Thanks for replying! From my understanding some games are able to have their xbox data transfered to steam via an external github code but I havent seen anything like it for vermintide 2. That sucks and I hope they add the cross-account system they have in Darktide to vermintide 2.

Iv not heard of this specific method but Id expect it not to work with most games since the way they deal with information on the xbox compared to PC OS is quite different.
Maybe a techno wizkid could write a program but I wonder if they would have to write a specific code for each and every game and for each platform since it would essentially be writing a new account. At that point Its probably easier to cheat and give yourself the things you earned on xbox :sweat_smile: not that Im suggesting that as I dont think its worth the risk.

Having cosmetics and achievements transferred would ofc be preferable but ultimately doesnt mean anything :face_with_monocle: (easy to say, I know).
But I do know how you feel, a year or so ago I stopped using my PSN account and I have around 4k hours on V2 on the PS, along with loads of the DLC, cosmetics and reds etc. I sadly just had to start again on PC but havent been playing V2 as much to be honest as I enjoy Darktide more although the V2 bug may take me again at some point.

Agreed but I wouldnt get my hopes up. I think the general gaming landscape is changing and at some point cross accounts may become the norm, once Microsoft owns Playstation and Valve along with our brains :scream:

So you’re absolutely right about that! These techno wizards are doing it on a game by game basis but it has worked for online games such as Remnant 2 which is what gives me hope it could be done.

Lmao I hope something gets added in the future but until then I will be one of the 5 xbox VT2 players ;-;
