Top bad advice Vermintiders give

Don’t play chess with a pidgeon…
These troll posts are so shallow it’s almost disappointing.

Did someone say elf?

I was not alone in calling out the Veteran as the new developer favorite immediatly after release.

I altered the quote slightly … or did I?

@Makkro, I identify as a Vermintide 2 veteran (or was it elf?) and somehow I feel that your post represents me better than OPs post did. Good job.

please stop embarassing yourself if you have no idea what you are talking about (mainly about how verminitde 2 run, your advice on Dtide are mostly poor but your conclusion on Vtide are BS).

  • Vtide promoted solo exploration and duo far more than darktide with easier control on disabler, no unit coherence and more mobility/line of sight.

  • using barrel in Vtide was the basic, if anything they went from really cool to mostly a trouble in Dtide since we can’t move them and the damage is not that interesting.

  • Out of the two game Vermintide is the one where you didn’t had to look for ammo, 20% of the weapons didn’t use them, half the class could regen some and all the other weapon had way to gain some back on headshot or crit.

  • poxhound are buggd as F, and that even compared to assassin regularly face crashing on a wall and dying by themselve in Vtide.

  • About the game sucking as other have said we don’t mind struggling on this (I mean, half the post are about people wanting higher difficulty available…). With how big of a launch darktide was compared to Vtide and how much more populare 40k is as a setting having a few hundreds more players than a five year old games isn’t that much of a trophy, people are going toward the new.

As other have said the reason why vet player were the most vocal is because we new what FS could have down and forgot between the two game. And most of it isn’t in the gameplay loop but on everything else. Maybe read the forum before crafting your illusory ennemi.

omg you’re so right tho :nail_care:

lmao, lol, this game’s a sleepwalk compared to v2. It’s also a major step backwards with crafting the way it is.

Okay that’s it, you’re going on my blocklist.
I don’t want to see your braindead posts every day.

I think the crafting in Dtide is more interesting than the one in Vtide. Or more exactly has more potential but is poorly used.

Breaking the lock and adding other way to get material would make the system really cool

It’s the weapon system that is great, it’s a massive step up from previous games. Not the methods in which you obtain and customize said weapons, aka crafting.

There’s nothing left to say that hasn’t already been said but here goes:

This has to be a troll post because, I’d be afraid to think of how this individual is able to breathe if it wasn’t.

Or how about:
This is giving me some strong “needs to wear a helmet while eating soup” energy.

You must be joking. Literally every single game wipe I experience is because idiot teammates keep rushing forwards aggroing more and more packs, have no concern for being separated by packs of enemies/bomber fires, and generally just ignore that it is a team game and it has ranged enemies all over the place that can’t all be “melee locked”.

Ok this is where I realized OP was stand up comedy. Or cry for help to a ticket to an asylum.

And I Would Have Gotten Away With It Too, If It Weren’t For You Meddling VERMINTIDERS!

Yeah this thread is comical troll.

From the perspective of someone used to milsims, the general thrust of OPs argument does make sense. But Holy Sh** does he focus on the wrong things when going into detail.

“Melee is for horde, guns for elite” Yes and no, as with all things in life, it’s circumstantial, the real answer here IMO is that one player should stay out of the melee, ideally a vet or a psyker, and provide overwatch to make sure the team doesn’t get jumped by flamers or pox bursters, etc. Tunnel vision kills, jumping into the melee makes it easier to over focus, especially if you’re that zealot that always goes into flow mode every time and forgets he has 3 others along with him.

“Take it slow” A “crutch”, if I wasn’t an autistic t**t I’d just accuse you of trolling and move on. Pace is dictated by team skill? If this is what you meant, sure I agree, but holy crap did you do a horrible job of conveying it. Also, I’d throw in that it depends on team comps, and whether its a pub or a premade. A competent team that is situationally aware and communicates will embody the adage “slow is smooth, smooth is fast”, they will be slow and methodical, but will always blaze through even shock troop gauntlets without breaking a sweat. Play the game, help your team.

“Conserve ammo” Even if you’re an MLG sweatlord this adage still reigns supreme. A team of full automatic weapons and a flamer? Even if everyone runs aimbots you will be ammo starved. Also drops are dictated by RNG. I’ve gone through entire games where the whole team is desperately scrounging for ammo and not a single ammo crate ever drops. IE, it depends on circumsntances.

“stay together” The adage holds up, but as I’m trying to emphasize, “it depends”. While I agree that it’s ok to separate as long as it’s in pairs, overall it depends on the map and situation. Running high intensity shock gauntlet T5s? Hell yeah the team should 100% hug each other at all times. But, even there it depends, there’s not much point if the point man isn’t tagging elites, the rearmost refuses to ever check his back, and the rest of the team don’t keep an eye on the rear guard to make sure he/she isn’t being gang r***d behind a dumpster by a trapper, a mutant and a pox hound. OFC no one ever considers the importance of spacing when in coherency though, so they then pikachu face when a pox burster kills one of them and chunks the rest to a single wound.

If there is one hard rule I do keep and never fails me and teams I run with that do follow it is:

Maintain Situational Awareness, know where the rest of the team is. Everything else flows naturally from this IMO. Always converge on a downed or disabled player, but never drop overwatch.

TLDR, it’s all circumstancial, not all tactics or techniques are applicable to all situations. Use your noggins.

A nice straw man argument you got there, shame if something happened to it.

Hello, I want to try to explain some stuff if I were to give those advises.
Also, I want to say, that Darktide is indeed different to Vermintide, while there’s melee choice, it mostly a secondary weapon due to ultimate danger of ranged enemies, they are just much harder to deal with than let’s say pox walker.

“Melee is for horde, guns for elite”
I have to agree with you that horde needs to die faster, but this advise is mostly aimed at the weapons that are strong and rather slow, like Lasguns, except the fast one, you wouldn’t want to shoot them with Helbore Lasgun do you? But with other weapons which are fast and generally good against hordes, it is good to shoot them, unless you have not so much ammo, it is good to preserve ammo for a special or two. So, it mostly comes down to what is more effective at the job.

“Take it slow”
In my opinion this advise is all about dealing with problems at hand, for example, there’s a mini boss, and it would be better if you would go forward with this boss, but deal with him while there’s no threat, it would be much faster and less dangerous. The same could be done with hordes, it just much easier to kill them without chushers and gunners shooting at you, who are usually only spawn in the next room.

“Conserve ammo”
This one is not as relevant in Darktide, there’s just so much ammo as you said. And this one means not to shoot some one random poxwalker with full mag of Boltgun, as you, also, said. But in the end of the day, this is good to keep this in mind sometimes, so you have some ammo left to kill something that is easier to kill with ranged weapon, sniper for example.

“Veteran is the only balanced class”
I think people say that, if they even do now, because it is fun ass hell to play as him, you have a lot of options to choose, and most of them are viable and good even. He’s just way too cool.

“Poxhounds are bugged”
When people say that, I think they mean that you can’t reliably push them in melee, they sometimes just don’t care. And nobody says that they are hard, just really wierd.

“Dont shoot barrels”
I actually hate barrels, so I think we should shoot them at sight, leave none, they mostly hurt us, enemies just don’t care. And I know they can kill them, but are pox walkers that hard to kill?

“Stay together”
This advise is actually too powerful, nullifies all threat, everything just dies in milliseconds. Also, staying together doesn’t mean not retreating, you still can back up if you are dying.
Well, I have to say the meaning of staying together, is means to get in range of each-other’s effective range so they could help you out if needed. About pairs, while I think they are not as powerful, they are still good if you know that you can manage youself and your mate, also it makes searching for loot faster.

“The game sucks”
There are not many people that say that, and I don’t agree with them, the game is fine, needs something new, bugfixes and little tweaks to the weapons that nobody use, and it’ll be really good. I believe that eventually devs will do it.

So, about 0 knowledge, it really depends on who is giving that advise and to what game this advise aims at, some Vermintiders in Darktide forums do play this game, believe it or not, and some of them are succeeding.
Also, thinking for yourself and not taking advises that you find not applicable to your playstyle or situation is good, as keeping them in mind, after all, these advises had a reason to appear.

In conclusion, please try not to insult people who are a big part of the community and people in general, they also like the game but are enjoying it differently.

So you took all the fundamental, most baseline level of advice and threw it out the karking window

Literally my only advice in VT2 applies here: “Try not to get hit”. That’s it. That’s the game.

IDK what the OP is on. Seems like a troll post.
