You assume they are allowed to reveal the class in any way. It wasn’t just a trailer that was delayed, but a whole reveal. And a class reveal includes everything, including pictures, blog posts and trailers.

If all media for the review was botched and they didn’t realize all day then it’s even more incompetent.
That’s assuming they didn’t realize it. For all we know, they could have been fighting with GW all day, hoping that they will go back on their demand to delay the release and only give up an hour before the original release time. And that would turn them from incompetent to great devs who tried everything in their power to not delay the reveal.
It all depends on the perspective, and we’ll probably never know what really went down behind the scenes so we will just believe what we want to believe.
So they changed the Roadmap in the Darktide Launcher. Now Dec. 2 also mentions the New Class Release, and the color of the text is this Silver/White and Red.
Now it might just be me, but those could be seen as AdMech colours.

What if the new class IS the delay? Pop your ability and delay teammate’s ability recharge. Your throwable/equipment/whatever tells every target struck, hey you can delay attacking the rejects, you have more vacation days, and they sod off for a bit, come back in a week etc?
