Why do thunder hammer specials feel so weak and require so much blessing stacking to do any real damage while still being clunky all when the knife, dueling sword, the new shovels and chain axes just tear through armor and elites without pretty much any drawbacks? The gimmick of oneshotting bosses is not enough utility for a weapon that just feels so mid to use.
I threw my Thunder Hammer to the wayside when they finally made the Heavy Eviscerator good, haven’t looked back since.
You could think that in a Warhammer game the hammers would be top tier weapons.
Instead it is Warshovel 40k now…
Even then the Vet’s best weapon is still disputed between the Shovel and the Power Sword (since they fixed it), so we got Warpowersword 40K on the way.

Any clunky weapons are poop to play at the high level in my opinion. Fluidity is critical because the higher the difficulty the more stuff they’re gonna throw at you at once. Doesn’t matter how much damage you can deal in a single hit if your survivability is low. It’s better to deal less damage safely and consistently.
They better make one handed power weapon. But that’s the new Shovels we just got.
i agree, thats why attackspeed was the best stat in V2, not because DPS, but because hitting something meant not getting hit back, and also accelerated animations.

Couldn’t state it any better. Sadly a lot of people don’t know how significant it is. And yeah that’s why I tilt when other people don’t vote for atk-spd in Chaos Waste.
Actual historically correct warhammers are so underappreciated. Love em.
As has been said in too many other threads, too many other weapons are good against Crushers now, and too many other weapons are too good against hordes.
Even the THs can somewhat deal with hordes, just bad enough you don’t want to, and then it doesn’t have a strength to compensate for that weakness.
It’s not even that great against armoured targets when a knife with uncanny strike can probably deal the same damage with light attack spam.
