Is it something wrong with my game specifically, or has the pulling-up-a-teammate-from-a-ledge animation been broken for most of the game’s lifetime? It plays within half of a second and you just stand there, staring at your teammate as they pull themselves up. I know its a small thing but surely fixing it would be small too? That is, if it isn’t just me.
it’s optimised for the other players, not for you. it was nmever gonna look great either way, since the animations have to be the same for ogryns too.
No, you’re right. It’s broken. Even on VT2 it is somewhat misaligned. But in DT it’s extreme.
The animation is some half second long at best, but the action takes way longer.
What comes to mind is initial game design having plan for situation X, animation gets made for that situation, game design changes again later for balance / tension reason, animation is now wrong and needs to be updated.
It’s low on their priolist for sure.
