The people that redesigned penances, especially the UI. Very good work

This, so much this. Frequently asked where I got X and I just can’t remember and there’s no easy way to find out. Have to look through hundreds of penances some times.

When I go to pick a frame, or a title, it should say "Reward from [Class/Mission/Exploration etc.] Penance: “name of penance”.

Simple.

I get the impression that your opinion is that unless everything is 100% perfect, it’s bad design and that is an impossible standard. Everyone can’t instantly know what they are looking at the first moment they see something. There is obviously always room for improvements but just because there is room for improvements doesn’t mean it’s bad design.

Well yeah if it’s not 100% perfect then some aspects of it are bad design.

They can in UIs with well designed readability.

I feel like you’re mincing words at this point. You agree that the readability is badly designed, but you take issue with the words “bad design” for some reason, like it’s a swear word. I felt like I gave pretty constructive reasons for what made that design bad though.

this helps. but i agree, it should be in the base game.

UI in general is good but for the titles there is no good preview for it in “penances” tab.

if you try to hover the cursor to the dog-tags icon, it seems there is no preview for the title’s name.
you have to go in inventory and check the locked titles i guess which is a bit janky a bit.

penances/highlights tab should tell you what title’s name you are about to unlock.

No that’s the reason to strive for good design, not a reason to never improve. You can’t just tie a bow on the first iteration and call it a day, you have to take in feedback and get better.

Anyone who tells you that their design is perfect and never needs improvement is lying to both you and themself.

We are all limited by our own life experiences, and ignoring outside input from people who have different ones leads to stagnation and never growing.

Look, I know how hard it is to design good UI, that’s why I write mods to improve them in little ways I personally would like them changed. It’s no slight on the original design to use mods that help your usability, they have to design for the largest proportion of users, and we can then add on bits and pieces that make our lives easier.

But, they should take into account feedback, because if a change is popular, it shows that there’s a need from the users that isn’t being served by the vanilla initial design.

If everyone had infinite time to develop design, it would be in a better place, but time and money are obvious constraints on these things, which is why feedback is important.
