- By itself the modifier is pointless. Where are the Hi-Intensity Shock Troop variants?
- What’s up with 1000000000 of health stims on those maps? This is supposed to be a gas difficulty modifier, not Unlimited Health and Wounds Modifier
- A regular reminder the game intensity pacing does not work. This is supposed to be a Tide game. Pox walker “hordes” comprised of 10 pox walkers isn’t that.
The thousands of health boosters really confuses me.
On the absolute maximum difficulty I spent an entire mission just jamming those things into my veins. Pretty sure I was never below 50% hp.
If you need that “complete 5 auric missions without dying”, thats your ticket right now lol.
They expected people to run through the gas from time to time to stay as a group, or because they’re forced to in order to escape a more immediate danger, or because the gas field is so huge that it’s impossible to get out before taking corruption damage. The stims are to counteract the often-unavoidable spam of corruption damage.
What ACTUALLY happens is that team splits up and immediately heads toward whatever edge of the gas field is closest to them as soon as the warning goes off, and then try to regroup after it clears.
When the team stays together in a tight ball (because THAT’s a common occurrence) AND there’s some real action going on, the gas can add a lot to the experience. And if they’re pinned in by gas with enemies, they just fight the enemies because they’re hard-conditioned to NOT run through the field of “thing that kills us” (imagine that…).
When the team isn’t in a tight ball (which is most of the time), or the gas goes off right as you’re walking into a field, it just puts the whole run on hold for an hour while we wait for it to disappear.
It’s a flow-ruiner in its current state. It needs to be looked at.
It’s hilarious that they were so absolutely scared of creating something difficult that they then just fill the entire map with healthboosters. Now you can literally ignore the poison gas entirely and play as if it wasn’t there, you can heal that corruption back anyway. And even if you did not totally ignore the gas, it sucks because it’d just lock you out of entire sections at a time and turn it into a waiting game. What the hell is the point? Could they not come up with an actual mechanic?
