Thanks for the new mission, but I’m not a fan of the shorter format. This isn’t a mobile game. 30 min missions should remain the standard.
I’d like it to be longer, but it is fun regardless.
Playing this mission with randoms in auric hi shock will really test your patience.
I need to get that zealot achievement so this should work fine
I agree having it be the new standard would be bad, but I like variety. Sometimes I don’t have 30 mins to play after a match ends but I do have 15.
Well said
I personally think the timer needs a slight increase. That’s all. Regular Damnation had us really pushing to finish in time, I can’t imagine how y’all Auric Damnation fans handle it with the current timer.
Good luck with the variety when you want it if RNG decides to not spawn the map when you have that 15 minutes to play after the introductory guaranteed period is over.
I get what you’re saying, my point stands though.
I like the idea of shorter, dynamic missions, but this immedatley feels way to punishing. I havnn’t been able to clear the train with pubs yet and 100% of fails have been the timer.
It also creates a lot of feelsbad and frustration when an objective isnt done past the point of the misson timer, so it feels pointless to continue. wether that is just players not keeping up or the design itself, but its sapping the fun out of trying for me.
(not to mention you have no time to loot or heal anything, so being left with very little to show for time invested on top)
maybe in future we may get more these type of short missions with a timer
So it’s like 1/2 of a map.
It’s only 7.5 minutes for me as I have half the frame rate I used to with the new patch.
I am extremely pleased to have a shorter mission. I don’t always have time for long runs but i do for short ones. Now i can get a game in edgewise. Ive cleared it several times with pubs on auric maelstrom so its clearly a skill check for some. Which is fine by me.
since i modded my ui to get rid of any useless fluff it seems i deactivated the line for the timer as well
not that it would change any of my forward pressure in such a linear map.
which is fun btw, had my first run today, not knowing the layout or anything auric dam histg.
boxcars or open wagons, dunno the correct term, are wide enough to allow for circling bulwarks.
if anything trappers and hounds are easier coming from only 2 directions instead of 360° and the boss at the end has a nice little yeet potential.
again, i didnt see no timer in my ui and was a bit surprised how short it was.
thinking of I II maelstrom i wager you reach the end without seeing a boss spawn
in case of nvidia gpu, the patch has fsr on and dlss off by default.
correcting those had me back at 144fps capped
15? Our first auric damnation run came in at 8 minutes. Granted, we were 2 knife zealots and 2 gunpsykers.
Errrrr…
(why?). Why not just leave my graphics settings alone!?
So the train level on auric damnation is pretty impossible. The timer is just too short, especially as those new auspex mini games literally take 1-2 minutes even if you do it flawlessly.
Haven’t even made it to the last section on auric damantion. Pretty nuts.
I feel like gunners have been buffed to the hilt too. I’ve got even better curio protection against them than before the update and they just slice through me. Weird.
Scratch that, just completed it on auric damantion but dang that timer is tight as heck even if you’re sprinting through the whole thing.
Definitely need a bit more time so we can enjoy it instead of just run.
Ran it successfully twice with friend and 2 pubs on auric damntaion STG, had plenty of time left on both runs and we absolutely loved that mission. It’s really a matter of players actually doing objective and having a good pacing through the whole thing, as well as having at least some idea of how to efficiently deal with shielded bosses.
In contrast, I did try it with full pub once before friend joined me and was met with classic “why you running ahead” in chat from teammate who planted himself on the spot to deal with endless spawns from behind while we had to move to next objective
