So far, she seems to be a very generic, one dimensional character. The stereotypical “I’m a collosal b1tch because I’m a commissar” type. You all know the type. This is just sloppy writing to me, because anyone in leadership will know that you will never gain respect by acting like this, commissar or not (read Gaunt’s Ghosts). I am predictating it will go an even more stereotypical route, where she “has her own motivations, dont get in her way.”
As of right now, Morrow is the only NPC that isnt completely stereotypical and one dimensional. Hadron is a close second.
You only know how she presents herself, not what she thinks or does. I can think of plenty of reasons why she behaves the way she does. It is unusual for a Commissar to be in charge of a Regiment, as you would also know by reading Gaunt’s Ghosts – she might be asserting herself really strongly because she is afraid her authority will not be recognized otherwise. It is made very clear in Gaunt’s Ghosts that Gaunt is special and exceptionally good at leadership and he is frequently contrasted with Commissars that don’t understand the art of inspiration as well as he does.
Also, I suspect her behavior or her attitude would not be perceived as irritating if she was a man instead of a woman. This is also very common.
That’s contemporary writing for you. It usually lands somewhere in the realm of utter dogshite to pretty decent. This is in there somewhere. I wouldn’t say it’s horrible or whatever, I’d say it’s fine. That being said I think if they want a total side character to be of any real interest to people, there needs to be more thought put into it. The voice acting felt pretty mediocre to me as well. Like someone who tries really hard to sound tough in a completely transparently fake sort of way whilst still supposedly trying to portray someone who is actually really tough.
Eh, she’s a one-note character who was effectively introduced as moderately incompetent in the trailer (trying to take over from the Reject Warband, her Guardsmen getting bodied hard by basic heretic mobs) so she’s not made a great impression.

I don’t have an opinion of her yet, but she seems exactly the type of person a Commissar is, so I ultimately don’t really care all too much. Just another person to yell at me that I suck when I’ve single-handedly completed over 500 operations on Atoma and have a kill count in the hundreds of thousands.
