The game needs more boss fights

The most fun missions are arguably Assassination missions. The boss fight music is cool and fighting the boss is pretty intense on damnation. We need more boss fights to make use of the soundtrack and add some variety to assassination.

I wouldnt call forming a circle around the boss and beating him to death intense.
The current Bossfights are the least engaging end event. They only get dicey if a heretic teammate refuses to participate in that kind of mobbing.

I would absolutely like engaging boss battles, but since alot of people were moaning whenever they failed a mission at the end, hello nurgloth, those are most likely not far up the list (if they are on it at all).

You’re both right.
What this game needs is more boss fights, that are also more engaging.
Right now every boss has a gimmick, but the gimmicks are rather weak.

Traitor Captain: “I have whole brigade of adds with me. Also my shield will eat all your toughness and you cannot harm me with pistols.”
Beast of Nurgle: “I will eat you. Please shoot me in the face.”
Plague Ogryn: “Me-me not Rat Ogre. I am real big boy now, yes-yes. Will smash-crush you, come-walk to me-me!”

The Plague Ogryn and the Beast of Nurgle are fine since they are part of the level and can’t be too intricate with their mechanics. The Traitor Captain feels a bit lame to fight, though.

Oh I thought you were going to talk about the random monstrosity events. Those are fun and I would like them to happen more frequently. What you’re actually talking about is lame though. I prefer the mission finales where you flip a switch and have to defend against the biggest hordes. Those are fun and play off of the games strengths.

Bosses should first get an actual move set and some interesting mechanics to them.

Agreed.
But first BOSSes aren’t monsters that can spawn in missions. Monsters are monsters, challenging enemy, good for freshen up routine.
And we NEED more monsters. Heck V2 had 4 monsters at the start, DT has only 2 that feel really same. We need long range monster, maybe not even monster maybe enemy vehicle. If we get chaos spawn what difference it will have comparin to Ogryn and Beast!? Another mindles beast that tries to smack players, nothing interesting.

And okay second. DT has no BOSSes. This poor excuce at the end of train station and pricon can’t be called BOSS.

  1. Who are they!? A faceless random heretic officer, WOW exiting! Who are they again!? Can we have some proper introduction? Intro like V2!?
  2. There kinda 2 dudes, one with shotgun and one with plasma pistol. But what actual difference they have? THEY DON’T. They absolutely same, and battles with them absolutely identical.
We really need good BOSSfights, after V2 that had really good BOSSes, DT is a joke and dissapointment.
And new BOSSes must be WAY more different, atleast let us fight a freakin tank! I can’t stop thinkin why there is a lot of abandoned tanks standing on maps, and heretics never used them. But we never fought a doomwheel in V2, even if we had a freakin model of it on one level, so i don’t think we get something good. And do not start on lore accuracy here, i don’t care. I lore rouins the fun then lore should be pushed a little, i don’t ask for pink ponies and onepuch baneblade, just a little more cool moments.

If you aren’t avle to insta gib the bosses, the have different melee movesets as well (powersword and powermaul) that are fun to learn. I’ve had a couple missions where as a zealot with ranged teamates (sharpshooters and psykers who don’t get close and do enough damage) that 1v1ing the boss in melee can be fun and challenging. However your full point still stands, having big guy with normal weapons who summons dudes is pretty lame, especially when most groups can just mob and kill him. Also as a guy who cares about lore stuff I don’t think anyone would have a problem with the group taking out a tank, that’s a perfectly reasonable thing to happen especially with the amount of anti-tank infantry weapons (melee and ranged) that exist in 40k.

There is some different actually, in Damnation the one with Power Maul is literally free but the one with Power Sword is a nightmare to fight lol.

He have the insta melee combo that’s really hard to react to and will absolutely shred you if you have no toughness, which you usually don’t because of the toughness delete pulse.

There’re a lot of people in my game that underestimate his attack and get downed from full health in like 3 seconds.

Honestly, I didn’t even know there are two variants of the boss. My mind is seriously blown here. They feel so similiar you cannot tell.
I guess the standout thing for the powersword guy is the round-house attack with the horizontal slice.

I don’t think that Fatshark is good at designing fun to fight monsters or bosses. So I don’t really need more of them.
Like @Merdoc said, they lack interresting mechanics and movesets.

Bossfights in DT are just one tanky boy with lots of hordes. They are not interresting by themself at all.

End-level bosses need more interesting mechanics. They’re just DPS checks right now. Your team needs either good enough weapons to kill the traitor captain before the specials start to spawn or enough aoe hoard damage to keep the specials down to a minimum while whaling on the boss.
