Every set is a cosplay, even when it’s a veteran set. But cosplay can be more or less tru to the source. Perhaps GW asked them to pay for some additional licenses or it’s just Tencent shenanigans. But DT cosmetics looks extremely cheap, wich is a crazy considering it’s their main source of monetization.
I like the DT Guardsman better. The SM2 ones look like they’re modeled too closely on the proportions of the minis (and the old ones at that, which is weird since SM2 is otherwise a showcase for current-edition stuff like the various permutations of Primaris powered armor).
A bit, especially legs’ lower part, looks a bit of gears of war’y.
But overall guards’ clothes parts in SM2 look heavy and thick like they were made of high density fabric to provide some environmental protection.
While in DT the unifrom looks like those used by police or militia in 3rd world countries, that will become rags after crawling on the ground and your character will be covered in bleeding scratches.
And not having glasses option for helmet is a big oof, almost a crime.
