you know when you have done the mission you get that screen with the 4 of you stood in a row and there is a big pause before you can hit space and get out of there,
why does it exist? can i get rid of it?

Seems to be related to the connection.
For instance, you notice this pause being longer when a new player loaded in right before the Game Over screen came on.
Sometimes there is no pause and it’s instant, this predominately happens when everyone has been in the game.
My theory:
The game reconnects everyone to the Gameplay server, then the Backend server (managing rewards and such).
The waiting time is the connection process, because the game is programmed to wait for everyone so synchronization issues can be avoided.
This would line up with Fatshark’s history. VT1 suffered from huge Desync issues.
TL;DR: No, you cannot change this.
This basically, and praying to god the game doesnt crash or kick you back to the character select at that time, causing all your rewards to disappear.
That hasn’t happened to me once since I started playing.
What version of the game are you running? What’s your hardware? Are you using any mods and are they up to date?
it never used to happen to me either , but it is clearly lobby wide as no one ever leaves before its possible for me to aswell . i play through steam so its always updated, and i dont use any mods , never have done.
im playing on a ryzen 7700 , radeon 7900xtx , 32 gb of of 6mhz cl30 ddr5, and all the storage are WD SN850x’s.
the pause seems to have come in 2-3 patches ago.
The pause was occasionally there before, but it’s gotten worse yes.
Also new since then - It takes longer to load into missions. When the mission starts, the intro jingle doesn’t play in the “walking in” cutscene, but thereafter.
I think it’s all related to the same issue.
Same here. At least half the matches I’ll get this minute or two lag where it almost looks like it froze before finally kicking in as normal.
My theory is also server side. But I’m going to add that I think what specifically triggers it is when anyone on the team levels up because of the exp gain from the mission.
If no one levels up, then it doesn’t happen. Just something I noticed.
As of right now its quicker to just leave a mission at the end than actually waiting for it to end. Sad because I disliked the people who always left right away after dying when sh*t hit the fan, but it looks like if you don’t leave when the mission does actually end, you are playing roulette with a 1-3 min wait minimum. Doesn’t seem like a lot… but when you have 800 hours on a game, those 2 minutes after EVERY mission add up lol
I kind of rember seeing one of the devs explain this on the modding discord, if i remembered correctly its because when you end a mission the server has to send the info of mission to another server. When there are a lot of matches going there is an intentional slowdown for keeping the servers from explodeing.
I’m working off some bad memory here so i’m not a 100% sure.
I always thought this was related to the scoreboard mod that a lot of people use (I think it’s enough for one person in the team to have it on). Could be totally unrelated though ![]()
Yes, gameplay server to backend server.
Makes sense.
I think it’s there to give you time to reflect on your failures & success… ![]()
it can be because someone is using mod that triggers a delay as it is displaying the information.
Sounds logical. But with such a tiny playerbase…?
It hasnt happened recently but when FS servers needed overhauls earlier in the year it could happen frequently. One patch it’s fine, the next you literally had shirtness ogryns and you would have to play server ping pong.
Id say its gotten a LOT better since Jan/Feb but this new overhaul is going to be a litmus test if they actually have gotten a playtest team since the beta.
Sometimes that end-of-round pause is multiple minutes before it even starts tallying rewards. Then you jump into ANOTHER loading screen to load back into the hub.
Seriously, the loading times of this game can be a little ridiculous and annoying.
I don’t mind the loading screen. But load times for the Mourningstar should be halved.
