I feel that there’s a chance snipers have been nerfed a bit too much.
This is by no means the only example I base my claim upon. They used to be scary, now you mostly get hit by one when you don’t have space to dodge and are in a pinch. Having said that maybe it’s better this way? They do tend to be on the cheesier kind of enemy in my opinion.

It actually was an Auric mission, it’s that most trash enemies were behind me and in that event there aren’t any real spawns. Essentially once you’ve reached the event the mission is already over unless everybody jumps in the lava. This is the case with many events in Vermintide 2 also. Semi scripted and limited on what spawns. For instance later on in this mission there will be 1/2 rager mini waves or rarely maulers. Also notice I have 2 vets with the pew pew las weapons so they destroy the waves.
I suspect that sniper has ‘locked on’ to another player maybe? Funny though. Better than the other kind that just instagib you. I remember when it was like that consistently.
He was locked on another player to begin with, but after that, sniper turn speed is really that slow, not a bug.
yeah they were too strong back then. Also I doubt they were locked on to another player, you can see before I push the button that he’s already aiming incredibly high, there is no way that crosses paths with any player from what I can tell. @Phracatti
Possible, my main point was that the turn speed is actually legit that slow
Oh yeah no doubt about that, of course most times we can’t tell from afar where they usually chill but yes they’re actually omega slow at aiming nowadays.
Since the patch xyz changes snipers got lobotomised. The problem was that the game mechanics which are supposed to CONSISTENTLY warn players of being targeted and shot at do NOT work consistently. Instead of fixing those problems, Fatshark just made them dumb. As we all know you can still get shot without a warning, only the frequency got lowered by making snipers “slow” in most cases.
The core problems haven’t been fixed, they were just hidden.
This is a pattern which repeats itself with a lot of systems and game mechanics in Tide games. RNG seems to be a thing which Fatshark just cannot give up on:
Your display picture is Bardin, if you notice he was trying to measure how “short” you are with laser rangefinder, you can notice also when he shot he aimed quite low, because he assumed your “pre-ducked” position.

Yeah I had a suspicion that’s why now they’re brain dead. Also the “new” kicking behavior seems to affect them more than flamers or bombers. I only have a clip of a flamer here.

It didn’t seem to take excessively long once it started trying to target a player, maybe what they do is just do nothing with the laser pointer out for a few seconds before they start trying to track players?
I have noticed instances where snipers seem to just be aiming at nothing, but the interval between shots once they start aiming doesn’t seem to be excessive.
Nah memes aside it’s perfectly normal, they tend to start “off center” so as to give you a longer warning period, from afar they have to move much less to cover much more ground so you can’t tell as much. But when they’re close it looks really stupid lol
In this case it did look like he started waaaaay up with that aim though I must say.
