Tags are overwriting eachother

Issue Type (Required):

Player Mechanics

Issue Description (Required):

I don’t know what the solution is here, but focus target, dog command and servo skull command are overwriting eachother.

It’s debilitating for all classes in terms of being a gameplay mechanic. It needs to be considered. I think the solution is simply to add separate tag icons

If a day ever comes where this gets fixed, it will be a good one for sure.

They need to fix it already and just make tags cover a portion of a body. So if the two different type of tags are applied half of body is one color and the other is different color

This problem exists since arbiter release, i doubt it will ever be fixed.

You wouldn’t think coding the ability to have multiple different tags active on the same target would be a big ask but here we are.

How many tag related abilities need to be in the game before this is considered a priority? One more and we can have all 4 players in a party overwriting each other and nullifying each other’s kit. Awesome.

There can be multiple outlines on a unit at the same time. Each outline has a priority number to determine which one is actually visible though.

The question is what are the pets keying off? A debuff of some kind? The outline? The dominant outline? The world marker (skull thing)?

I’m sure it will be fixed by the time we get this

right? right??

Did some AI-assisted digging in the game code:

  • Vet focus target debuff still works even if the outline is overridden and the party buff should still proc on kill as well. Might confuse auto tag mods though :stuck_out_tongue:
  • Mastiff AI will stop prioritising that target if the tag is overridden. Pet reverts to its default AI.
  • Servo skull also reverts to default AI although if it got the noospheric buff it will not lose that buff.

That’s good news, because honestly I wasnt sure, it’s hard to test things in havoc XD

But honestly, reverting the AI functionality is still not acceptable.

It most definitely confuses veterans who spam focus tag like they are on drugs or something

And this is very common.

Not sure i understand why.

Is it like a gamer thing where you have to spam everything or constantly be maximizing actions-per-minute?

It’s also the same people who somehow find it impossible not to shoot that poxburster that is precariously entering close range with a teammate.

Good to know at least Focus Target still applies, that’s something.

Veterans on drugs?

It isn’t explained anywhere, honestly.. I can’t hold it against anyone.
