Stage2-unlock of "Rejects Unite" is broken

Issue Description:
CORROBORATED ON DISCORD discussion: we have killed 400K monstrosities.

1. we cannot get the redeem-code for the tattoo cosmetics.
2. More importantly: The counter for stage-3 doesn’t show any progress. All subsequent efforts feel unrewarding.

We need assurances communicated to us that “the progress is being tracked and will be restored to us after the fix is successful.”
