Staffs for the psyker

The psyker needs more staffs, there are so many opportunities with warp magic, simple as that.



I doodled a few concepts super quick to share in this post, but i really just want to launch the conversation and i want to hear your ideas!

What types of staff would you love to see in the game?

I just use a gun, it’s just better.

One staff that I’ve been wanting to see, even before in VT2 would be as follow.

based in VT2 on this spell:

Sanguine Swords - The air around the wizard takes on a fiery glow as up to 6 red swords materialize, floating before him. At a gesture, the swords fly toward a victim and attack, and the target can be switched over time.

Where instead of acting like how Assail work here would work would turn into a heavy gun that work with an ‘ammo mechanic’ and strong projectiles that have to be reloaded, but still work on the Peril (or heat for Sienna).


Summary

Assail Staff, reloading (maybe on special) generate 5-6 shards, light attack will throw a single shard, heavy projectile that will be strong against carapace.

While Heavy will focus all remaining shards, to then throw them all in a volley.

Basically 40k Zenyatta from Over Watch


But tbh I don’t think a Shield staff would work quite well, balance wise.

Other than that:

Sienna’s Bolt Staff, but Biomantic (So having the projectiles be flurries of electric bolts)

Sienna’s Beam Staff, still Pyrokinetic, but having the beam attack be channelled from the heavy instead of how it work in VT2
