Spillway is awesome!

First off I’ll get the little gripe out the way about being disappointed not to see the Trapper net and Pox Hound being sorted out yet. You know, that would be massively appreciated if it was fixed once and for all.

Onto the Spillway map, I bloody love that level. I think it’s your best yet. The overall design of it, like the difference in elevation and paths feel really well thought out.

Especially love how, as you progress through the later part of the map, it gets increasingly gruesome and decrepit.
The labyrinth of slimy organic tunnels is really immersive. Reminded me a little of the level in Gears of War 2 when you’re inside the giant worm. As if you’re literally entering a belly of a beast :face_with_tongue:

Having the multiple routes tied to the glyphs before you head down into the gooey labyrinth is a nice touch, in particular for replaying a different way.

There’s a giant spillway before that part is a spectacle too. I looked directly down into it from the bridge above it and it looks like a massive eye sort of drawing you in. Looks slightly eerie.

I’m properly enjoying the Ogryn’s Cruncher hammer and the Thugshot cannon. Wicked additions those are and the hammer especially I’m having a lot of fun using.

Seeing Rodin Karnak return for the boss - albeit after many heretical pie eating contests  :upside_down_face: - was a surprise, and the battle is as challenging as it is fun. When he sends those purple warp orbs at you that you can shoot down, there was some nostalgia from old bosses during the PS1 & PS2 era, such as N Gin on Crash Bandicoot 3.

Last and not least of course, Jesper Kyd’s new music tracks for the boss are no exception to his other work on the game, brilliant. Hugely compliments as always :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks a bunch for this new stuff, I can tell a lot of work and thought went into it once again.

P.s. can some new outfits be added that you can buy with in game currency aswell please.

Worst map ever. But the graphics are great.

This map on havoc 40 is insane hahah I wish I could see the win rates of it . I just know it’s drastically low with the 20 minutes boss fight.

You mean 3 minutes?

Fatshark please don’t change the few maps we still enjoy playing. If anyone has been filtered, that’s literally just a skill issue.

Fat American psyker obliterated by high skill ogre grenades of divine heaven :fire:

I don’t want to imagine how difficult it is on a high Havoc level… regular Auric is a really nice sweet spot of really challenging and fun. The challenge shoots up drastically if the team isn’t playing well together. I’ve played it with my Ogryns and had a good team both times, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mDz6QR2tHE

But then last night I played the level with my psyker - which I’m only competent / half decent with at best :face_with_tongue: - and we all got our arses handed to us, where the boss was basically trolling us with that green acid / slime

Each to their own. Just out of curiosity, which maps do you prefer?

Yeah FS really do have fantastic level designers…which is why it’s a genuine travesty that we hardly ever get new maps.

The boss fight is frustrating when the purple smoke walls comes out due to the bad signposting…it’s sometimes impossible to see clearly where the non dangerous bits are. But the level before that is great.

That bit where you run over the top of the spillway is so cool. It gave me a bit of vertigo the first time I ran over it haha.

Feels like the map gets rushed by many people because they know they have a big boss fight at the end…which is a huge shame given the design and art of the map.

I think that boss needs less moments of invulnerability…as there is a lot of waiting for him to become vulnerable which is annoying after more than a couple play throughs

This was a party finder group haha not a premade, I’m sure premade is much easier

tbh, I just wanted to take this opportunity to share just how far this game can go when ppl know how to work together. By coordinating their talents, weapon blessings, and Blitzes, a party of four can significantly shorten what is currently the most difficult battle.

Still, IT IS more fun with randoms. Everyone has to realize how important to keep their teammates alive, rather than selfishly trying to survive on their own only to end up getting brutally roasted in the end.

People have rediscovered the importance of cooperation in a COOP games.

I’ve already made several new friends by beating Havoc 40 Spillway.

Yeah I hope they don’t nerf it it’s really fun. Like a Havoc 40 Maelstorm

one of if not THE best map ever.

All of them without trash MMO style boss fight.

its not trash though and just liking “any maps” means you don’t even have any formed opinion on the matter and just like whatever…which is fine lack imagination or care for actual quality of the maps is not a crime but then why even comment on the subject? it doesn’t seem like you’re actually judging them based on their quality at all, just one boss fight which is definitely more inovative than repetitive “hit shield then commander” boss fights we’ve been getting so far.

Do you mean the waves that send you flying? You just take cover behind the gory spikes sticking out of the ground.

“That bit where you run over the top of the spillway is so cool. It gave me a bit of vertigo the first time I ran over it haha.”

Understandable with the vertigo

“Feels like the map gets rushed by many people because they know they have a big boss fight at the end…which is a huge shame given the design and art of the map.”

Agreed. Really don’t like rushing in a level, especially because of the ambience and sounds design, not just how good the levels are designed. It’s all just nice to take in and when you’re rushing through a level, there’s none of that breathing room, even to hear the often funny dialogue between the rejects

Bang on! Coherency is a must on this level. This map really emphasises that and it punishes deserters even more than other maps.

I also love the spillway.

“Oh no I have to learn some moves, i cant just left click it to death, how horrible”

I appreciate there being something truly difficult in the game but I find the arena geometry pretty boring. Flat circular room takes away a lot of possible scenarios, specifically interactions with gunners and specialists.

No the bit after that with the spinning purple smoke walls. On higher difficulty that just becomes an absolute explosion of noise and colours. Very difficult to read the floor tiles in that bit.

The bit with the pillars is fine but the timing wasn’t very fair at release but it’s been adjusted now.
