I don’t really know how to title this thread since this is kind of a weird issue, but I’ve encountered a situation multiple times in the mission with the cooling rods where you drop into the one room before going to the elevator. (The one with the observation window for the reactor)
Basically, a player dies before the servo skulls are placed. The player then spawns for rescue ahead of the chamber before the chamber is locked down, so when the event starts that player is stuck waiting for what is probably 10 minutes or more depending on the difficulty as no one can rescue them.
Shouldn’t they spawn in the chamber? I swear once the servo skulls are in place any death usually just results in the player needing rescue in the room.
This seems to be a common problem that happens on probably most if not all maps that have mid map events.
If you die and respawn just before an event is started, you spawn at a location AFTER the event.
If you die and respawn at pretty much any time during the event, you will spawn at a location in the room where the event takes place.
It really does not make any sense that the event respawn point is not used until the event has started.
It definitely doesn’t seem intended, that is for sure. Menace isn’t too problematic if a fourth is dead, but at heresy or above it can be a pretty brutal experience.
Yeah I put in a report about this ages ago when I tried to do the Baross event by myself on Damnation, after like 6 minutes I died before I even got the second power cell in. Pretty stupid to just brick your run with zero hope on the levels where the event is really far in like power matrix. But like most actual issues with the game no priority to fix. They needed to hotfix slendergryns and shirtless darktide instead, god I am glad they couldn’t even do that right.
