Spanish Article on future plans/itemisation

It would be incredibly funny and sad, if they removed the locks to replace them with a different icon.

“you got exactly what you wanted”

They did. That was me, and I don’t work there anymore.

ofc it had to be some obscure leak from an outlet to get absolutely anything regarding the itemization plans.

Well to substantiate this bit further, i do have some concerns reading this. My major problem right away is that it sounds bit too grindy to even try something damnation viable if you need to play 1-2 games already to even unlock the blessing points.

Yeah its “early and being tweaked” yada yada i get it, but there is a real good possibility of having to regrind basically everything from scratch if proper measures are not in place.

 Replace one grind mechanic with another.

But OK OK OK too early to tell. Don’t know how long it really takes to reach max weapon level yet. Depends on how many missions it takes.

Hopefully never have to click spam these 2 buttons as much. Watched so much Netflix doing that.

At this point, I’ll believe it when I bloody see it. Until I see some actual proof, this is just damage control to me. And why would I believe otherwise? Whoever’s in charge of this crap is so ignorant and out of touch that, even with a years + worth of feedback, people basically screaming in their ears to just break the locks , they still thought that this trash would be a good idea, and wasted who knows how much time and effort on it. That’s not even getting into the very real possibility that, even if they do “break the locks”, they won’t find some way to screw it up.

Given that itemisation will drop sometime in autumn - could the locks be broken before summer as a stop gap measure?

Looks a lot like they’re just replacing the RNG grind with another system of catastrophic grind, and one that could well require you to actually use the specific weapon in missions, in order to upgrade it.

They’re still clinging to the worthless statbars, wanting people to play for ages and ages in order to gradually upgrade them by 1-2% each time.

This looks nothing at all like what I’d want.
Give us fully maxed, unlocked red weapons. That’s it.

Replacing the RNG grind with another 1000 hour grind is exactly the kind of scumbag move I would expect from FS.

@FatsharkStrawHat

You guys need to instantly publish exactly what you plan for items and crafting so that you can get full and realistic feedback from the actual community of the game.

Thank you and Catfish for relaying our concerns over all this time.

Agreed, FWIW. I wish they’d abandon the whole ARPG loot system completely. My own feedback is aligned with forum feedback in that regard and I’m not the only one.

Yeah. Make the red weapons cost a big chunk or whatever. But at least that way, the grind is finite and you can overcome it.

This looks like every single weapon will need a huge amount of grind and resources put into it. And if you want a second one for a second build that uses different blessings/perks, and don’t want to keep changing the item in the crafter each time? Guess what, now you’re leveling up a second of the exact same weapon.

And that’s just on one character.

It looks for all the world like just another infinite grind system. Proving that FS have understood nothing, and are actively malicious in their design of the systems.

I can tell you right now that this is absolutely not, and never has been, the case. This is why I keep hammering the same point in this thread: don’t place any value in the article’s details and specifics.

Thank chaos for that, at least!

It’s an understandable reaction. As long as fatshark is incapable of communicating on their own, people will latch onto what little information there is. Don’t you think it’s weird that you as a player/tester have to do their damage control for them?

Just think, if not for this random Spanish outlet we’d never have known that locks will stop existing.

Find whoever in Fatshark thinks information is a zero-sum game and launch them into the sun.

You should’ve been discussing this weeks ago with the actual player base, taking their feedback, and implementing something better.

I just hope it is not that. I would not mind if it is something that do not require lot of hours spent in missions… but I fear that it will be exactly that.
I would hate to have to spend lot of time just to be able to TEST something.

This reminds me the veteran keystones… so many guys that asked for that, and the result is really something I hate. Veteran talent tree was better without the keystones.
I wonder that, if at final players that have asked for months that they remove the lock, they won’t get something worse. Must admit it would make me laugh a lot if it happens… I would laugh a lot and after I would uninstall the game

I’d be quite happy to have an end game grind. Also, having to max out more than one weapon of the same type would be also welcome, so it feels like we actually have multiple weapons in our armory.

IDK what’s people’s problem with progression. Having everything unlocked after 80-100h of playtime just sounds boring to me.

To me it sounds amazing, because I can instantly try any combination of blessings and perks. I don’t have to grind for 100 hours on one weapon just to see if it was worth trying that combo at all.

Might as well apply your logic to the talent tree. That we should have to grind out every single node on the talent tree, just to be able to try it.

Infinite grind has a place in some games. It has NO place in 'Tide games.

I want to be able to go into the Psykanium, poke at my Thunder Hammer, and test what combo of perks, blessings, and skill tree nodes I need to one-shot a Crusher without using my ult.

Hallelujah some good news. What about this weird battlepass system?! Is this going to be for each individual weapon? Do we have to repeat it for different characters? How silly is the grind going to be? What is the actual design intent here instead of just giving us complete freedom to do whatever we want with our gear.

In HD2 you can unlock everything, including all warbonds in under 100 hours.
If you remove the warbonds then in ~ 65 hours you can have all strategems and upgrades
THE BEST time of the game is when you open the menu and KNOW you play for FUN and can take anything you want, and people with maxed out resources STILL TAKE the samples

But just as in DT, r-tarded devs dont play their own game and make idiotic balance decisions that objectively reduce the fun.
