Solo Play still doesn't exist?

This is pretty much the crux - locally hosted single player is needed. The game plays so much better locally hosted - just try out the mod SoloPlay togerther with Tertium5. All I’d need is Progression for these and I’d be happy.

I really think one of the hiccups that might be stalling the Solo Play is the bots behavior.
While the mod is a decent option, the bots are still very basic and mere placeholders.
They can’t pickup stuff, they don’t use their ults, prioritize well, etc.

DT has its own challenges compared to V2 and I certainly understand it might not be easy to offer decent AI teammates but anything functional enough (with customization and limited orders menu/wheel) would do at this point.

Eh, is it? Even objectives on maps are designed for coop. For sure you can do it solo, but without invisibility ultimate hacks should be pain in the ass on higher difficulties.

And that’s one more essential thing bots can’t do right now: play the objective.

  • handle the tentacle things to destroy them fast as a team - three tentacles, one big eye, that’s four players.
  • throw a battery to a teammate on a upper level while the others clear the area/defend ?
  • cover different areas/access to defend a key location/event ?
  • focus a boss/monstrosity ? and/or split the group in defense+offense ?
  • go hack the consoles while others defend ?

There are numerous examples, and probably many that current gaming AI techniques would struggle to address.
Unless you play on a low difficulty. And True Solo is a very different experience and challenge, obviously.

I get why FS don’t want to invest much time and money in improving a probably barebone Solo Play mode.
But still… Barebone will do (imho).

Bot’s still didn’t use objectives in VT2 and were still leagues better than your average random.
