It’s like the old “co-op” strat in vermintide where the host uses an intel pentium 4 limited to 5% cpu usage plays at 10fps while the other players kill the enemies who are stuck running on the spot
For a cooperative, class-based game… Darktide sure has a lot of players with braindead takes about what should be happening in a co-op class-based game.
Damage seems to be the end-all be-all so many people focus, and that’s basically what the ability is about… setting your team up to deal the damage safely. Sure, the Psyker isn’t the one dealing the damage, but that’s not the goal.
We can’t have true support roles in this game because the brain-rot tells everyone they need to be getting top damage and kills.
Helping the team doesn’t mean scrambling for top kill spot.
We need a true support class like a tech priest, that actually buffs allies directly via abilities (not just simple auras and aoe toughness heal). Like would love to have a regenerating random stim i can only use on allies to buff them.
hopefully fatshark will make one in the next 3-5 years but its a bit of a wishful thinking.
Yes it does nothing exept breaks procs for a lot of builds and blessings.
It should be nerfed so you can’t just smite a whole run, up the damage but make it a lot more expansive to use.
Never had a problem where stunlock everything is better then killing everything.
But pubbies have problem to dodge stuff especially smyker mains that never learn to kill anything or avoid getting killed.
Yeah they rely on everyone else to kill everything, take out specials because they can’t switch to a weapon and pick them up when they are downed for the 5 time while breaking other players procs.
they are not strong they are badly implemented, they could make it stronger but much more expensive or have a long cooldown so you can’t just have an uptime 24/7

if they are a good player i dont mind as much but most ppl just spam that shet and even if it takes the challenge away i would rather die being overwhelmed than winning this way

yeah thats true but tbh goin in and doin mass destruction is fun asf but the ppl who just run ahead and do everything by themselves are the worst and i would love true support abilities for sure or maybe a staff that buffs players or smth atleast no smite
i still dont get whats the fun about that or the challenge what do u learn from enemies standing there and as soon as u goin for auric mael storm u die 24/7 cuz u are not used to moving targets its just a dumb ass blitz
plus u guys didnt even reach auric maelstorm
a lightning bolt would be nice smth that u throw in and explodes with lightning and shet and the recharg system like the assail but way slower so u cant spam it

Yeah… some people don’t really value the team play aspect and that’s ok. Just makes me shake my head to read that it’s ‘useless’ when there’s a clearly defined use case that is just not appealing to some.
That’s fine, but imo it’s a bit silly to go around raining on a parade you’re not in!
Not much of a psyker myself but I always like having one along. If you can keep em covered you know anything in their cone is gonna be nice and stunned for you. If they caught some crushers in their net just pick em off real nice and easy like.
I know some people are amazing survivors and can solo the world, but I prefer companionable co-op. When I find someone who knows you’re watching their back and starts to watch mine, I get the warm fuzzies
Staff and heavy blitz users in particular can really shine when they’re not constantly fending off scraps and/or have a place of refuge in the fray. Hug that butt!
