My expectation didn’t line up with reality on these weapons, I was expecting something more akin to the attack patterns of the mark IV chainsword or even though mark VIII chainsword
the shock maul movesets feel “janky” - yes that is the best word I can attribute to them.
They neither have cleave to cut through enemies (which is fine since we’re not cutting through hordes with a mace) nor do they seem to have enough sweep with knockback to be meaningful.
Agni Mk 1a - In order to access the sweep moveset simply light attack and then heavy.
Indiginatus - in order to access the sweep moveset do a heavy attack and IMMEDIATLY follow it up with a light attack.
Reminds me of 2h hammer from VT2.
Now here is where things get weird and feel bad. IF YOU MESS UP, or if you get interrupted you have to restart the attack chain, because if you keep clicking you’ll be doing overheads (in the case of the indignatus you’ll be stuck doing heavy overheads).
There are a few ways to reset the attack chain and start over.
Do nothing, you’ll be able to restart the attack chain and hopefully do it right this time
Block, but if you act to quickly despite having blocked you can easily mess up the moveset
weapon swap real quick, this can leave you exposed in a horde
in my opinion we could use a 3rd option for the shock maul’s, something more based around crowd control (which is kindof the purpose of a shock maul) OR, one maul should be more single target focused and the other more crowd - removing the strange hidden sweep moveset and allowing the players to focus on what they want.
