Is pbb too strong are ogryn ranged talents too good or are some of the ogryn weapons too good. Since the devs want ammo recovery to be more of a thing which part of the pbb ogryn builds makes it too good?

It’s honestly just Rumbler PBB has so many flaws that make it send only rumbler and twin stubbers through the roof. Ripper with PBB is just ok, looks way better on the scoreboard than what it’s actually doing imo. Kickback actually a problem in aurics but nobody’s running Kickback pbb in aurics

Let me first say that as someone who plays this game on havoc40 exclusively, and also as an orgryn main. Players who plays dps orgryns are some of the lowest skill players on Darktide. They don’t have a concept of playing as a team , they must and always rush to pick up anything before anyone else. They need a justification to clear every screen and every encounters within 5 seconds. You will never see them host a havoc 40, why ? Because every seasons this is what these players do. They are tagging along just to get clearance 40 ( which is 95% of players who plays havoc 40) . Orgryn is one of the lowest skill ceiling and most forgiving character to play. If they are playing pbb exclusively, it means they have no concept of how the game can be win consistently without playing as an pbb. That’s why they would never reach assignment 40.

[image] dragomusic: I have 0 idea what they were thinking with this, other than, “Ogryn needs ammo sustain for this playstyle, let’s give them even more free ammo alongside BLO.” Because everybody insisted over and over that PBB, BLO, and right tree builds generally suck for ever and ever, even after several of the earlier buffs to it. “PBB just makes you spend your ammo faster, it sucks”, was a near universal judgement previously. I remember responding in multiple threads, actually number crunching what the effective ammo gain from BLO + related talents was, and pointing out how close it was to being pretty bonkers, and that small incremental buffs is the most you should reasonably give right tree Ogryn. But pretty much everyone, even the ones in this thread denouncing it now, insisted it was mega dogsh1t and needed massive buffs to be played. Nobody should be surprised by FS’s response to this perception. So sorry this isn’t really aimed so much at you, but god damn it’s annoying to see “where did this come from???” now.

It’s more of less “where did this come from” and more “wtf was FS thinking.” Right side tree is still very poorly thought out and in-cohesive, it just has near infinite ammo and insane dot applications. Just the biggest band aid fix of all time, while not addressing any of the issues of the tree. BLO is still horrible unless you take PBB.

[image] dragomusic: BLO is still horrible unless you take PBB. Eh, not with the guaranteed free shot after melee kills for kickback or rumbler. It’s probably still outcompeted just because Ogryn keystones are generally very good. The only reason BLO isn’t good on its own with twink or ripper is those guns being under tuned at base. It’s not really the keystones fault.

[image] It's extremely underwhelming trying to play Ogryn after playing the Arbitrator Gameplay Feedback I honestly want pbb and blo completely reworked at this point, pbb is super powerful but the cooldown is to long and ogryn doesn’t really have enough ammo for sacrificing melee to be worth it. I would prefer pbb to be weaker but have a much shorter cooldown blo on the other hand I don’t know how to solve without it making the rumbler even more busted. Fatshark did half of what I wanted, they lowered the cooldown without nerfing the damage. We got monkey pawed.

“During the winter of 2026–27 players from the official forum made a strange and secret investigation of updated modifiers in the newest Fatshark game of Darktide.”

uninquiring souls let this occurence pass as one of the major clashes in a spasmodic war on balance  … it suddenly struck me as very natural that one should not wish to use a loadout appraised by this meta or to spend any talent points more than necessary in a section of such a build good ol howard had a way with words for sure :joy:
